Lily Allen Debuts New Romance After Split From Husband David Harbour

Lily Allen is officially off the market again.

The singer confirmed she has a new boyfriend following her split from husband David Harbour. During a recent interview at a Valentino party in London, Allen was asked who last texted her. Her response was simple and telling: “My boyfriend.” The moment was captured on video and shared by the magazine, effectively confirming months of speculation about her relationship with Jonah Freud, according to The Independent.

Allen’s new romance marks a fresh chapter after the breakdown of her marriage to the “Stranger Things” actor, whom she married in 2020. The couple separated in early 2025 following four years of marriage.

From Speculation to Rome Getaways

Allen has been linked to Freud since last year. The pair were first spotted together at an Oasis party at London’s Chiltern Firehouse in September, per The Independent. Since then, they have been seen on multiple outings, including dinner dates in west London and trips to Rome and Paris.

According to the Daily Mail, Allen and Freud recently enjoyed a romantic minibreak in Rome, where they were reportedly staying at the Hotel Locarno. They were spotted having coffee and a cigarette together in the Italian capital. The two were also seen kissing at Allen’s celebrity-filled Christmas party at Stringfellow’s in London in December.

Freud, 28, comes from a well-known British family. He is the son of PR executive Matthew Freud and Caroline Hutton and is the great-great-grandson of psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. He works as a writer, researcher and art director and owns the London bookshop Reference Point, which doubles as a private library and bar, per The Independent.

Before confirming the relationship, Allen had previously said she was not in a relationship, though she admitted she had been “meeting up” with someone.

Allen’s new romance follows a highly publicized breakup from Harbour. In interviews with ELLE UK, she described the end of her marriage as “traumatic.” She also revealed details of their turbulent open marriage, saying it was not something she would explore again, per The Looker.

The emotional fallout of the relationship was reflected in her October 2025 album “West End Girl.” Allen told British Vogue that she recorded the project in December 2024 as a way to process what was happening in her life, though she clarified the album was “inspired” by her marriage and “not all gospel,” according to InStyle. The record includes references to an open marriage and alleged rule-breaking, particularly in the track “Madeline.”

Sources previously told People that Allen was “devastated” following the split and that it had been difficult for her and her daughters. She later entered a residential treatment facility to focus on her mental health.

Now, with a new relationship confirmed and her musical comeback underway, Allen appears to be stepping into a new phase. As she told ELLE UK, she feels “liberated” and “genuinely psyched and excited for the next couple of years.”
