Lily-Rose Depp, the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, looks completely unrecognizable while in costume for her new role. The actor is portraying a character in the period horror drama “Werwulf” and has gone through a dramatic transformation in order to play the part effectively.
Lily-Rose Depp Sports New Look for ‘Werwulf’ Role
New photos have emerged from the set of Robert Eggers upcoming horror film “Werwulf” that showcase the physical transformation of several actors, including Lily-Rose. The movie sees Depp reunited with director Eggers, who she worked with on “Nosferatu,” alongside actors Willem Dafoe and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
However, Lily-Rose has a very different look compared to her Ellen Hutter character from “Nosferatu.” The actor can be seen dressed in dark medieval clothing and a burgundy headscarf, which look almost like rags, and also has what appears to be a fake cleft lip.
In the images, Dafoe can also be seen in costume while riding a horse with a full bushy beard. All of the pictures were snapped as the movie was being filmed on location at Bourne wood near Farnham in England.
The story of “Werwulf” is set during 13th-century England and, according to IMDb, follows “a mysterious creature [that] stalks the foggy countryside, transforming local folklore into terrifying reality as villagers face an ancient supernatural threat.”
It stars Taylor Johnson, Lily-Rose, Dafoe, and Ralph Ineson, with Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus acting as executive producers. Eggers co-wrote the script with Sjón.
Lily-Rose Depp Received Widespread Praise for ‘Nosferatu’ Role
Lily Rose, who is the oldest of two children between Johnny Depp and Paradis, had her first acting role in Kevin Smith’s 2014 film “Tusk.” She then went on to appear in “Yoga Hosers” and “The King” in addition to pursuing a career as a fashion model. Her breakout role came in the HBO series “The Idol,” which also brought her success as singer and songwriter through the release of the single “One of the Girls” with The Weeknd.
However, she is probably best known for her role as Ellen Hutter in “Nosferatu.” Her performance in the film brought her widespread acclaim. A remake of the 1992 film “Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror,” it found success at the box office and became a hit on the Peacock streaming service.
Speaking during an appearance on “Video Club,” Eggers revealed how he cried after seeing Lily-Rose audition for the role. He said, “I’m not exaggerating; I was in tears because her audition was so insane. She’s just such a disciplined, courageous, and like feral actor. She’s amazing.”
