Russell Crowe is one of the most beloved actors in Hollywood, thanks to roles in films such as “Gladiator.” Now, ahead of his new movie, “Nuremberg,” he not only received a lifetime achievement award, but he showed off his slimmed-down physique in the process.

Crowe’s “Nuremberg” is set to hit movie theaters on November 7. James Vanderbilt directed the movie, and it’s being released in the US and Canada by Sony Pictures Classics. It also stars Rami Malek and Michael Shannon.

Crowe wore a formal navy blue suit at the event. He styled it with a green tie, a white shirt, and had his hair styled to the back. He seemed gracious as he walked onto the stage to give his speech and waved at the crowd.

Crowe also walked the red carpet for the film festival. These photos show the actor in more casual attire as he greeted fans and even signed autographs. In them, he’s wearing what appears to be a light blue polo-style shirt and a dark blue jacket. He completed his outfit with a pair of sunglasses.

The “Nuremberg” also took the time to pose for photos with people at the event. Additional pictures show Crowe discussing the movie as well as posing with other celebrities on the red carpet for the film festival. He first showed off his dramatic weight loss at Wimbledon in July 2025.

He Opened Up About Accepting the Role in ‘Nuremberg’

Nuremberg is a movie about the 1945 trials of the same name. In the film, a psychiatrist, played by Malek, must determine if Hermann Göring, played by Crowe, is fit to stand trial over war crimes. Crowe opened up to Deadline about accepting the role.

He said, “For the most part, the things that attract me are the things that terrify me. I responded to the script straight away, but in a funny way, I was also emotionally exhausted by it. How would you even attempt to play that guy? When that kind of question comes up, that’s usually what I’m attracted to.”

Crowe added, “It’s also why you haven’t seen me do 15 variations on Gladiator. And to this day, I still haven’t done a sequel, which I consider a rare badge of honor.”

  1. I’ve loved you since I was very young. I’m 80 and still love watching you perform. I can’t wait to see this character your performing. And can’t wait to see you on the red carpet and receiving best actor.
