Bruce Willis and Demi Moore‘s middle daughter, Scout Willis, has opened up her home for a feature in Architectural Digest. While you might expect the child of celebrities to live in a lavish abode, it turns out that Scout’s home is an absolutely charming cottage that looks like it came straight out of a romantic fairytale.
And that’s just the vibe that the musician is aiming for, telling AD, “I want people to come to this house and fall in love. I want people to meet each other here and make out.”
Scout Willis’s Cottage Is a ‘Retro-Dreamy Home’
“Playfully dubbed the ‘Chapel of Love,'” Scout’s “retro-dreamy home—lush with velvet textures, vintage finds, and playful design—turns everyday living into an immersive escape,” according to Architectural Digest.
A Normandy-style cottage by architect Frederick A. Hanson, which was built in the 1920s, it “had been hardly touched since,” per AD. “A self-professed ‘nerd for LA history,'” Scout “jumped at the opportunity to serve as a custodian for such a unique piece of the city.”
Keeping in mind that the home could not be heavily renovated due to the fact that it’s a designated historical landmark, Scout still wanted to put her stamp on her living space. To do so, she brought in Roman Alonso of Commune Design. Making various changes to the cottage, AD noted that, “mostly, they honed the vibe.”
When it came to the garden, Scout turned to the Geoponika firm, which created “a sort of en plein air annex to the 1,000-square-foot home,” AD notes. The firm asked questions like, “Could someone in the hot tub steal a glance at a guest in the sunken conversation pit? How does conversation flow between the outdoor dining table and the brick daybed?”
Scout Willis’s Home Has A Lot of Fans
When Scout shared photos of her home on Instagram and posted about the Architectural Digest feature of her “fairy cottage,” plenty of people left messages letting her know how much they adore her irresistibly quaint residence.
Scout’s sister, Tallulah Willis, left a comment, saying, “You did so good boondle.”
“Just WOW,” fellow musician Juliette Lewis wrote.
Another person added, “The coziest, dreamiest kind of magic 🧚♀️🤍 Every photo is breathtaking 💚”
“STUNNING!!! Dream home,” came from someone else.
“Obsessed with the colors, textures and that kitchen tile!🙌😍,” was another comment.
Yet another fan of the home wrote, “I can honestly say I’ve never seen a home more suited to the person living there. It suits you. Calm, comforting, magical, serene, unique. What a relaxing space to live in and make memories.”
