You surely recognize Seann William Scott as Steve Stifler from the “American Pie” movies. What you might not know is that “[b]ack in 2004, soon after he starred … in the third installment of the four-part American Pie film series, American Wedding, … Scott doled out just under $4 million for a coastal retreat in the western reaches of Malibu,” according to Robb Report.
Now, after more than 20 years in the home, Scott is selling the Zuma Beach home for $17.85 million.
The Home Offers Ocean Views & Other Perks
“Set amid mature trees and manicured grounds with ocean and sunset outlooks, this striking contemporary estate blends warmth, craftsmanship, and architectural restraint across a private, resort-like setting,” according to the listing from Chris Cortazzo of Compass. “Rich wood detailing, exposed beams, and expansive walls of glass define the interiors, creating a seamless connection between indoor living spaces and the surrounding landscape.”
The house that offers five bedrooms, four full bathrooms and a powder room, stretches over 4,100 square feet.
The multiple main living spaces — which are described as “open yet intimate” — boast “custom millwork and abundant natural light.”
Residents of the home will find that the chef’s kitchen is “both a design statement and a functional centerpiece,” while the connected living and dining areas “open effortlessly to outdoor terraces and garden views.”
The bedrooms offer privacy, and boast calm vibes and “tranquil outlooks.” The primary suite also includes a “spa-inspired” bathroom that features a soaking tub, floating vanity and views of the garden. The other bathrooms “echo the same material palette of stone, wood, and clean-lined fixtures” that are found elsewhere in the home.
The Home’s Outdoor Space Also Has A Lot to Offer
CanvaOutside of the home, the new owners will be able to enjoy “landscaped lawns, mature palms, a tennis court, and peaceful water features that enhance the sense of retreat,” per the listing.
That’s not to mention the covered patios, open lounges and areas where you can take in the stunning views of the coastline.
Beyond that, Zuma Beach itself “is the largest and most popular beach in Malibu,” according to Discover Los Angeles. “The long wide stretch of sandy beach close to parking makes it an ideal destination for families and large groups. Zuma is excellent for swimming, boogie boarding, surfing, volleyball, fishing, diving and kite surfing.”
The listing notes that while “[b]alancing modern design with organic warmth, this exceptional property offers privacy, architectural integrity, and a refined coastal lifestyle in a truly special setting.”
