Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are getting engagement congratulations from some pretty upscale addresses, including a few palaces!
In fact, the “You Belong With Me” singer’s joint Instagram post with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce announcing their engagement had more than 24-million likes in just nine hours. And those likes included Prince William and Princess Kate.
Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle also dropped a heart on the post.
While Tay and Trav turned off comments on the post, that hasn’t stopped anyone and everyone from weighing in on the betrothal heard ’round the world.
Two Generations of Royals Show Their Inner Swiftie Love For Taylor
Both Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have spent time not just with Prince William and Princess Kate, but also their children.
In fact, Prince William took his two oldest children, George (12) and Charlotte (10) to Taylor Swift’s Eras tour stop in London in 2024.
Taylor posted a selfie on Instagram that not only showed her royal connection, it also marked the moment her relationship with Travis went “Instagram official.”
In fact, in an episode of Travis Kelce and brother Jason’s podcast “New Heights” cheekily titled “Jason Gets Heckled, Travis Golfs with The Great One and the Kelces London Era,” the brothers talked about meeting Princess Charlotte.
“I gotta say, Prince William was fantastic, but the highlight was Princess Charlotte. Prince George was great too. She was so [expletive] adorable. Like, I cannot…,” Jason reminisced. “She was a superstar,” Travis agreed.
Famous Friends Repost Taylor & Travis’ Engagement Announcement
They may not have been able to comment on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s flower-filled Instagram engagement announcement, but famous friends of the couple didn’t let that deter them from expressing their joy.
Chiefs teammate, quarterback Patrick Mahomes and wife, Brittany each posted Instagram Stories offering up their congratulations. The QB let three red hearts do his talking, while wife Brittany was a little more wordy, captioning a repost of the couple’s engagement photo with “Two of the most genuine people meet & fall in love. Just so happy for these two.”
Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast X account offered up congrats to the couple with a “how it started” vs. “how it’s going” post.
That post featured a split screen with the engagement picture on the right and video on the left. That video was of Travis telling his brother Jason he had attended an Eras concert and was “disappointed” that Tay doesn’t talk before or after her shows. “She has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her.”
Travis then revealed that said bracelet had his phone number on it. “She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal,” Travis said at the time.
Athletes, Pop Stars and a President Show the Love for Tay & Trav
Everyone from singer Sabrina Carpenter to WNBA star Caitlin Clark reposted the engagement photo on their Instagram stories. Sabrina topped hers with ten white hearts.
Even President Donald Trump got in on the act. During a cabinet meeting press conference posted on CSPAN’s X account, a reporter told the President that the pair were engaged and told him, “the world wants your reaction sir.”
President Trump responded, “I wish them a lot of luck. I think he’s a great player. I think he’s a great guy and I think that she’s a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck.”
