Legendary actress Julie Andrews made a rare appearance to show her support for a special cause.
The award-winning actress, 90, is looking better than ever as she addressed viewers in a short video for the World Parkinson Coalition.
Andrews, who appeared in beloved films “Mary Poppins” and “The Sound of Music,” donned a light blue sweater and her signature short locks.
“Good evening, everyone. I’m Julie Andrews, and I’m pleased to welcome you to the 7th World Parkinson’s Congress,” the actress began her speech. “Your participation is invaluable as we seek to find a cure to this terrible disease.”
She continued, “I know well how devastating it can be. May we all become a beacon of light to stop it in its tracks. Count me in as a red thread. Thank you.”
‘Princess Diaries’ Icon Julie Andrews Enjoys Life Away From Spotlight
Andrews has been enjoying a more private life away from the spotlight. In 2024, “The Princess Diaries” star reflected on her “quieter” life after decades of a successful career in Hollywood.
“I probably feel like in my 50s, honest to God,” Andrews said in a 2024 interview with Wiser Than Me With Julia Louis-Dreyfus podcast. “As long as the brain holds out, I’m doing okay.”
Andrews added that she enjoys a more peaceful life, especially as she’s gotten older.
“I don’t go out as much, and I love being home,” the actress said. “But I kind of enjoyed that, pulling back a little bit now.”
Andrews continued, “And of course I’ve got a million thoughts and ideas and hope that I can keep going for a great deal longer. But who knows? And I’m just pleased that I’ve arrived here.”

Other projects she appeared in include “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “Darling Lili,” and “Victor/Victoria.”
Andrews also played the fan-favorite Queen Clarisse Renaldi in “The Princess Diaries” and “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.”
Most recently, Andrews voiced the character of Lady Whistledown in the hit Netflix series “Bridgerton,” where she won an Outstanding Character Voice-Over Performance during the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys.
