As some of TV’s biggest names from the ’90s join forces on HGTV‘s “Totally ’90s House,” some are still mourning the losses of their beloved co-stars.
The stars of the new competition series sat down with Entertainment Tonight to share their raw emotions over the deaths of some dear friends.
Brian Austin Green
Brian Austin Green starred in the hit teen series, “Beverly Hills, 90210,” alongside stars like Jennie Garth, Jason Priestly, Shannen Doherty, Tori Spelling, Ian Ziering, and Luke Perry.
The series ran for 10 seasons between October 1990 and May 2000, following a group of Los Angeles teenagers as they transitioned from high school to college.
Tragically over the years the cast has said goodbye to two of the beloved stars: Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty.
“She’s been in my life my entire life,” the former “Knots Landing” star said of Doherty, who passed away in July 2024 after a battle with breast cancer. “She has played a massive part in who I am. The experience of being friends with her, being family with her, and then losing her has all left these indelible marks.”
He added, “I wake up every day and I look in the mirror and I see those memories. I see myself because of these people. I see myself because of her. I see myself because of Luke. I see myself because of my grandfather, because of all of the people that I’ve lost. And I really try and appreciate the fact that I had them. I was lucky enough to have them in my life. And I had an experience with them that a lot of people didn’t, and that’s not lost on me ever.”
Perry — who died in March 2019 after suffering a massive ischemic stroke — was just 52. Doherty was 53.
Keshia Knight Pulliam
Keshia Knight Pulliam starred as Rudy Huxtable on the beloved family sitcom “The Cosby Show.” Lisa Bonet, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Tempestt Bledsoe, and Sabrina LeBeauf played Keshia’s TV siblings.
Tragically, the television family lost their only brother, Warner, in July 2025. The actor died while vacationing with his family in Costa Rica. Several members of his group were swept into a strong ocean current off the shore in Playa Cocles. While three of the four beachgoers were able to be pulled from the water, Warner was pronounced dead at the scene.
“He’s always going to be in our hearts, but our relationship was way more than just ‘The Cosby Show,'” Knight Pulliam said. “We’re family. His family is still my family: his wife, his daughter. So I’m grateful. I’m grateful to have had the time. I’m grateful to have had the memories.”
She added, “His work and his legacy will always live on. His love for music and poetry. He was so much more than the character and the multitude of amazing characters that you saw him play.”
Knight Pulliam went on to reminisce about the shared family memories she had with the Warners.
“He was my brother. It was bigger than a television family. You know, he’s Uncle Malcolm to my kids,” she said. “I love his family immensely.”
