When Erika Jayne — one of the stars of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” — sat down for a chat at BravoCon 2025 on Friday, November 14, she was all smiles. Why is that? Well, she happened to be talking about her boyfriend, John McPhee. Or, Shrek as he was originally nicknamed.
During the Livin’ In Beverly Hills panel moderated by Anthony Allen Ramos, the “RHOBH” personality was asked, “Erika, while I’m with you, can we talk about Shrek?”
Referring to the fact that John can be spotted in the Season 15 trailer, Anthony went on to say, “We see him on FaceTime.”
“What did you call him?” Erika responded while still smiling. Shen then added, “You can call him John.”
“So, I started dating someone in June, and we had a FaceTime call,” she continued. “And Kyle [Richards] was actually the first person that I shared this with.”
“It’s slow,” she continued while talking about the status of her new-ish relationship. “And I think that’s the right thing to do. Just slow.”
Erike & John Were First Spotted Holding Hands
After Erika was first spotted out with John in Los Angeles while the two held hands, she opened up about the experience during the July 30 episode of her “Diamonds in the Rough” podcast.
“It was really nice,” she recalled. “Like, I feel comfortable holding this person’s hand, and he’s a nice man.”
“You know, I haven’t been seen with anyone in five years,” she pointed out. “So this is a really nice person and I enjoy my time with him… He doesn’t live here, so… Listen, listen, it’s a friend. It’s a nice thing.”
John Has Gone Through ‘Several’ Divorces
While Erika split up from Tom Girardi after more than 20 years of marriage, she’s not the only one who’s gone through a divorce. In fact, John — a retired U.S. Army special operations sergeant major, according to E! News — has gone through more than one divorce.
“That’s tough on everybody,” he said while doing an interview for “The Megyn Kelly Show” in May.
After noting that he had been divorced “several times” because of his overseas military career, he added, “Only guys that had perfect relationships, their marriages survived the war. And I would say the bulk of guys end up divorced.”
Fortunately, it seems like things are going well for John relationship-wise now that he’s retired and met Erika.
