When Harry Jowsey entered his latest reality show, the goal was clear. After years of public relationships, the “Too Hot to Handle” star was finally ready to settle down with a wife.
However, dating 20 women at the same time proved to be more complicated than he expected. Perhaps unsurprisingly, trying to build several connections at once also meant risking several people’s feelings.
Jowsey quickly discovered that having more options did not necessarily make the search for Mrs. Right any easier. One night in particular made him question whether or not his current strategy was the right one.
Jowsey Kissed 11 Women During One Night of Filming
“Let’s Marry Harry” began with 20 women hoping to build a serious relationship with Jowsey. By the third episode aptly named “Why Do I Keep Kissing Everyone?”, it was clear that things wouldn’t be that straightforward.
The 39-year-old returned to the house after a group date, and settled in for some quality time with several contestants. By the end of the night, he had kissed 11 out of the 15 women still in the competition.
The reality star initially appeared to enjoy exploring the different connections. Soon, however, he began questioning whether his actions and the reason he joined the show were still aligned.
“I’m here for a reason. I’m here to find my wife,” Jowsey said during a confessional.
He later expressed the difficulty involved in balancing so many relationships. According to him, there was always the possibility that getting closer to one woman would hurt another. “In this experience, it got a little bit scary,” he told People.
Amanda Kloots, one of the three people helping Jowsey navigate the experience, was unsurprised by his reaction. Despite his reputation from previous shows, she said Jowsey “does hate hurting people’s feelings.”
Losing His Father Changed What Jowsey Wanted From Dating
Jowsey admits that there is a serious reason behind his latest search for a life partner.
His father died in December 2024, and it changed the way Jowsey looked at his own future. Speaking with Tudum, he noted that grieving his late father revealed his own need to settle down and start a family.
“That really kind of reroutes anyone,” he said. “The harder thing is, I was sitting there with him in those final days, recording stuff for my kids in the future.”
On “Let’s Marry Harry”, Jowsey explained that he eventually returned to Los Angeles feeling alone. He wanted someone with whom he could build a life and eventually start a family. “I’m ready to have my person,” he said.
Jowsey has spent years dating while being watched by millions of people. However, “Let’s Marry Harry” offered him something different. The format allowed him put his phone away and focus on women who were “as serious as I am about marriage.”
The show’s producers also surrounded Jowsey with people he’s well acquainted with.
Kloots admitted that she initially questioned her friend’s reason for looking for marriage on TV. However, she changed her mind after seeing how serious he had become following the loss of his father.
Jowsey Has a Long History of Reality TV Romances
“Let’s Marry Harry” is far from Jowsey’s first attempt at finding love on television.
His career in reality TV began even before “Too Hot to Handle” made him a Netflix star. In 2018, he appeared in New Zealand’s “Heartbreak Island”. He formed a relationship with fellow contestant Georgia Bryers, eventually winning the season with her. However, their relationship ended several months after filming.
He got his reality TV breakthrough just two years later when he appeared on the first season of Netflix’s “Too Hot to Handle.”
On the show, he began a relationship with Francesca Farago, which ended shortly after a brief engagement. Later on, he dated Georgia Hassarati on and off, before they eventually split in 2023.
Jowsey’s history with Hassarati makes the latter’s role on “Let’s Marry Harry” interesting. Instead of competing with him again, she is now one of those helping him choose a wife.
The first seven episodes of the show arrived on August 5th. The eighth and final episode is scheduled for August 12th.
