The past year has been emotionally devastating for reality television star Jessi Draper. During the course of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” season 4, viewers saw her marriage to Jordan Ngatikaura fall apart. Since then, the couple officially filed for divorce.
Jessi Draper has publicly spoken about her mental health struggles on social media in the months following their split.
Jessi Draper Gets Real About Her Mental Health Since Her Breakup
In a previous Instagram post, Jessi Draper shared that her mental health was getting the better of her.
“I just feel really lost to be honest,” the reality star vulnerably shared in the video, adding that she was going to therapy to work through her problems.
“I was in two marriages that were emotionally unsafe and when you’re in that for so long, … you learn habits, you learn routines, you learn defense mechanisms and things that keep you safe,” Jessi continued. “And it’s crazy how getting out of that can kind of mess with your head a little bit and make you go a little bit crazy. And I feel like I’m going through that right now.”
On her Instagram stories this week, the mother of two admitted this year has been a disaster and she would really love a do-over.
However, Jessi still has hope for a better tomorrow.
Even though the situation seems dire, Jessi Draper knows she has plenty of people cheering for her. In another Instagram stories post, she shared a screenshot of a lovely message someone sent her.
“You’re following exactly what [the] year of the fire horse stands for! Year of the snake sheds what’s no longer meant for you — fire horse comes in blazing a new trail. New you, forced to get go and push forward. [It] hurts more to hold on than to let go — you’re doing great! Keep going,” the message read.
“There’s hope for 2027,” Jessi quipped, adding text over the screenshot.
The SLOMW Star Celebrates Mother’s Day as a Single Mom
Although the divorce has certainly been exhausting, Jessi Draper seems to have embraced the life of a single mother. She often references being a single parent on social media. On Mother’s Day, she acknowledged it was the first one as a single mom. But even so, she felt loved and adored as she spent time with her kids.
“Being their mom is my greatest responsibility and accomplishment 💕 1st Mother’s Day as a single mom hits different but grateful these babies chose me to guide them through life. We’re in this together kiddo’s! Happy Mama’s Day to you all!” Jessi captioned the Instagram post.
In the comments, plenty of her peers and fans wished her well.
“You’re such a good mama! Happy Mother’s Day ❤️” her co-star Mayci Neeley wrote.
“HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO THE BEST MOM IN THE WORLD ❤️” Marciano Brunette added.
When “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” eventually returns for season 5, fans hope to see Jessi Draper in a healthier space. Season 5 will likely premiere on Hulu later this year.
