‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Stars Hint Filming Could Resume Soon

It’s been a busy week for the gals of the “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” From an old video of Taylor Frankie Paul resurfacing to ABC announcing that her season of “The Bachelorette” was canceled, these Mormon moms have had a lot going on.

Perhaps even more impactful for the group as a whole, Hulu halted production on “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” after the situation involving Paul came to light. However, several of the “SLOMW” cast members are hopeful that filming for the show will eventually continue.

A few have even taken to social media, hinting that filming could resume soon. Read on to see what the moms have to say.

Jessi Draper Gets Candid About Her Life and ‘SLOMW’ Future With Alex Cooper

Mormon mom and “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star, Jessi Draper, sat down for a candid interview with Alex Cooper on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. The 33-year-old opened up about her marriage to Jordan Ngatikaura, and the couple’s recent decision to divorce.

In a major revelation, Draper shared that her estranged husband blackmailed her over the inappropriate relationship she had with Marciano Brunette. However, this was all going down when Draper was actually helping her ex cover up his own cheating scandal. Along with dishing about the state of her own life, she set the record straight on her castmate, Taylor Frankie Paul.

During the podcast, Cooper asked Draper if she knew about Paul’s situation and the 2023 video before it was released to the public. The “SLOMW” star acknowledged that she and the other cast members had known about the video when it originally happened. However, none of them had actually watched the footage until it was released publicly.

In regard to her co-star, Draper noted, “I don’t want to judge someone in their darkest moments. I don’t want to judge the person. I’ll judge the mistake.”

During the interview, Draper also revealed that the producers of “SLOMW” have been really great during this time. The Mormon mom told Cooper that production has been very supportive, suggesting a pause in filming for her and fellow cast members while the situation involving Taylor Frankie Paul unfolds.

Ultimately, the stars of the show, Draper, Jen Affleck, Miranda Hope, Whitney Leavitt, Mikayla Matthews, Mayci Neeley, and Layla Taylor, agreed with production’s assessment.

Draper noted, “Me and the girls, we did decide to stop filming when we found this out because we were starting to hear things a little bit before it leaked. We just didn’t want to be filming and say the wrong thing on camera, not knowing the full story yet. We didn’t want to have to process all this information for the first time and then also be speaking about it.”

Draper went on to admit, “We just thought for everyone’s mental health, let’s take a beat and let’s not film right now.”

Still, Draper is hopeful that filming will resume soon. She joked, “Clearly there’s no shortage of drama in our lives. So, if we get another season, it’s going to be good.”

Mayci Neeley Is Ready to Resume Filming ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’

Draper isn’t the only “SLOMW” cast member who is hopeful for the future of the show. Two of her co-stars reshared a “Deadline” article highlighting Draper’s comments about filming potentially resuming soon.

Mayci Neeley was the first co-star to reshare the article, captioning her Instagram Story, “We’re ready. It’s time to take Barbieland back.”

The 31-year-old “SLOMW” star is married to Jacob Neeley. The couple shares two biological daughters: Harlow and Charli. Jacob also legally adopted Mayci’s son, Hudson, whom she had with a previous partner. Mayci has shared with fans that Hudson’s biological father, Arik Mack, died in a car accident months before her son was born.

Layla Taylor Is Also Ready to Resume Filming

The second “SLOMW” star to post the article on her story was 25-year-old Layla Taylor. She captioned her Instagram Story, “Let’s do this girls!!!” The Mormon mom also took the time to tag the show’s production company and Hulu, writing, “Love our team so much and so grateful.”

Taylor shares two sons, Maxwell and Oliver, with her ex-husband. While “SLOMW” fans witnessed a relationship blossom between Taylor and Mason McWhorter on the most recent season of the show, the Mormon mom has since confirmed their split.

At any rate, it seems like the moms will be ready to carry on with filming for “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” after taking a quick break for their mental health.
