After weeks of halted production, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” season 5 has been greenlit to continue. While the members of MomTok continued making social media content, they also felt incredibly anxious about their show’s future.
The infamous 2023 video featuring Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen fighting moved ABC to cancel her season of “The Bachelorette” and for Hulu to halt production on the reality series. While it’s not yet known if her “Bachelorette” season will air, SLOMW season 5 is back on the table.
While the team behind the reality show is still trying to figure out logistics, cast members are excitedly celebrating the news.
‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Season 5 is Back on Track
MomTok and “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” universe were built on fun TikTok content. Of course, it only made sense for current cast members to celebrate with a video.
“Season 5 of #TheSecretLivesOfMormonWives is back in production. 🩵” the show’s official Instagram account shared online this week. In the reel, the show’s theme song plays as cast members Miranda Hope, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, and Jessi Draper dance in celebration.
While fans are excited to learn that SLOMW season 5 will resume, many have mixed feelings. In the comments, several Instagram users noted that they aren’t interested in the new season if Taylor Frankie Paul won’t be part of it.
“They’re gonna have to figure out how to be entertaining without Whitney and Taylor. They were the only ones with full storylines in season 1,” one Instagram user wrote.
Initial reports indicated that both Dakota Mortensen and Taylor Frankie Paul would not return when production resumed. However, new reports seemingly indicate that now only applies to Dakota. Taylor might resume filming after a period of time away.
“Taylor’s priority remains her kids and family, but she is not completely cutting off ties with the show,” TMZ reported this week. The publication also notes that the rest of the SLOMW cast is supporting Taylor while she navigates this chapter of her life.
Hulu Announces a New Orange County-Based Spin-Off
SLOMW fans are excited to see what comes next in season 5. But there’s also an entirely new series to explore. MomTok joins Southern California when “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County” premieres on Hulu.

There isn’t yet an official series premiere date for the spin-off, but many SLOMW fans are interested to see what the women of Orange County bring to the table.
“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” season 5 is expected to premiere on Hulu sometime later in 2026.
