We have arrived at the finale night on “Survivor” season 49. The final five castaways are ready to fight it out for a chance to plead their case to the jury and be named the Sole Survivor. While we wait for host Jeff Probst to reveal the jury votes, you may be wondering what does the winner get on “Survivor” season 49? Do the other castaways get a prize? We are sharing a breakdown of the prize money below in our “Survivor” spoilers.
‘Survivor’ Finale Tonight
The contestants on “Survivor” all play for different reasons. Whether they are superfans and have a love for the game or they just want the thrill of survival, the monetary reward at the end is a motivating factor as well.
Since the show premiered in 200, the winner of “Survivor” has always walked away with the same payout: $1 million.
The seven-figure payout hasn’t changed, even though some critics have questioned why it hasn’t adjusted for inflation. However, the show maintains that the experience of being on the show and the legacy of winning “Survivor” are also part of the reward.
Other Prizes on ‘Survivor’
While the winner of “Survivor” gets $1 million, there are other prizes handed out during the season. The runners-up aren’t left empty-handed when the season comes to an end, so making that final Tribal Council is huge.
The first runner-up receives $100,000, MoneyLion reported. The second runner-up will take home $85,000.
While those payouts aren’t as big as the winner’s prize, they are still a very decent payout, especially for 26 days of work. It’s a nice little reward for making it to the final leg of the race.
As far as the other castaways, reports vary on how much they make. The earlier they are eliminated, the smaller the check will be.
If the castaways make it to the jury, they would earn more money. They would also receive a flat fee of $10,000 for appearing on the reunion show.
However, that has changed in recent seasons as only jury members are invited to the post-show reunion. They are compensated for their appearance.
We are down to the final five castaways on “Survivor” 2025: Sophi Balerdi, Rizo Velovic, Savannah Louie, Sage Ahrens-Nichols, and Kristina Mills. They are all hoping to make it to that final Tribal Council and plead their case to the jury to win the $1 million prize.
The “Survivor” season 49 finale kicks off tonight at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
