Taylor Swift‘s docuseries, “The End of An Era,” gives fans an in-depth look at the making of the star’s latest epic tour. Beyond that, it offers plenty of glimpses behind the scenes. That includes “bonus day,” which is exactly what it sounds like and is definitely exciting to witness.
In a new peek shared by Entertainment Tonight on Instagram, the singer can be seen working away on handwritten notes for each person who will receive a bonus, revealing that it’s taken her weeks to finish. However, she claims that it’s totally worth it, even comparing the feeling to the joy of Christmas morning.
Indeed, when her crew opens the letters and sees how much she’s giving them each as a bonus, they become more than a little emotional, so we’re going to assume it was a substantial amount. While a few people appear to cry, one person even looks a little woozy and admits, “I’m gonna pass out.”
As for how much Swift gave her staff and crew, ET noted, “While the exact amounts are edited out, ET confirmed at the time that Taylor gave out a total of $197 million to those working with her over the course of the tour.”
Fans Loved Taylor’s Financial Gesture
When Entertainment Tonight shared the glimpse of “bonus day” on Instagram, fans were quick to leave messages noting exactly what they think about Swift and her financial gesture.
One person took to the comments to write, “We made the right one famous 😭🤍”
“So genuine and kind I hope to meet Taylor someday and she’s so incredibly inspiring. ❤️,” another person added.
A third fan wrote, “She is the best…so generous and genuine ❤️”
“You are amazing @taylorswift Life changing moments for your team ❤️,” came from another social media user.
Yet another person wrote, “Seeing Taylor Swift give such incredible bonuses to her tour crew honestly warms my heart. It’s beautiful to watch someone at her level recognize and reward the people who help bring her vision to life. Everyone deserves to feel that appreciated.”
How Much Did the ‘Eras Tour’ Bring In?
GettyIf you’re wondering how Swift can offer so much money in bonuses, it surely all has to do with the success of the Eras Tour.
“Through its 149th and final show, … Swift’s tour sold a total of $2,077,618,725 in tickets,” according to The New York Times. “That’s two billion and change — double the gross ticket sales of any other concert tour in history and an extraordinary new benchmark for a white-hot international concert business.”
Us Weekly also notes “[t]hat figure, shared with the outlet by Swift’s production company, does not include merch sales, profits from the Eras Tour book or the box-office take from her 2023 film, ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour'” which apparently brought in another $261 million worldwide, per Box Office Mojo.
So, yeah, Swift can afford to be generous, which is awesome to see!
