Several Bachelor Nation favorites recently reunited in the California desert as Tanner Courtad celebrated his 33rd birthday. The “Bachelorette” alum shared photos from a surprise Joshua Tree getaway on Instagram on March 8 that included appearance from former “Bachelor” lead Joey Graziadei, his fiancée Kelsey Anderson, and several franchise alums Justin Glaze, Jonathon Johnson, and James Pierce.
Graziadei recently asked Courtad to be his best man at his wedding to Anderson in 2027, as seen in an Instagram post the “Dancing With the Stars” season 33 winner shared on Instagram in early March.
“My guy!! Couldn’t be more honored to stand next to you on your big day 🥂 let’s go get you guys married,” Courtad commented on the post.
Courtad first appeared on season 20 of “The Bachelorette,” which starred Charity Lawson; he was sent home week 5. He also returned to the franchise for season 9 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Although he didn’t find a long-term partner through the shows, his personal life took a turn after filming ended and he wound up with model Hailey Miller, who planned the entire surprise birthday weekend, Courtad revealed in his Instagram caption.
Surprise Desert Weekend Brings ‘Bachelor’ Alums Together

“33 in Joshua Tree,” Courtad wrote. “My friends showed up and surprised me in the desert for my birthday. I’m the luckiest guy in the world to be surrounded by so much love and so many incredible humans. Shoutout to [Hailey Miller] for pulling all this off. Best weekend ever.”
The weekend-long celebration brought together multiple members of Bachelor Nation who have remained friends, even after their time on TV. Graziadei and Anderson, who got engaged during season 28 of “The Bachelor,” appeared in several of the snapshots, while Glaze, Johnson, and Pierce were also seen enjoying the trip.

He then returned for seasons 8 and 10 of “Bachelor in Paradise.” Johnson appeared on Jenn Tran’s season of “The Bachelorette” and “Bachelor in Paradise” season 10. Pierce was also a contestant on season 20 of “The Bachelorette” alongside the birthday boy.

Photos and videos from Courtad’s Instagram dump showed the group making the most of their desert getaway. The friend group was seen excitedly greeting Courtad as he realized the surprise before they all settled into the weekend’s activities.
Several images captured the group enjoying outdoor activities, including a group yoga session, pickleball, and a campfire.
In a hilarious clip, Glaze was featured giving his best impression of internet-famous chef “Salt Bae,” dramatically sprinkling salt on a plate of steak.
The celebration ultimately appeared to be a laid-back but memorable birthday trip, with Courtad ending the weekend surrounded by friends, laughter, and the starry desert night sky.
