Prince Harry offered a rare glimpse into his family’s private life with Meghan Markle during his first public outing in the United Kingdom in a year.
The Duke of Sussex attended the WellChild Awards in London on Sept. 8, where he joined children and families who have shown extraordinary strength while facing serious illness.
What Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Are Streaming on Netflix
During the event, Harry, 40, revealed what he and Meghan, 44, have been streaming at their Montecito home, where they live with Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4. Speaking with 13-year-old award recipient Grace Tutt, who asked him for Netflix recommendations, Harry shared that the couple has been watching the political thriller “Hostage” as well as the hit dating reality series “Love Is Blind.”
Meghan’s own Netflix series, “With Love, Meghan,” recently premiered its second season. While Harry does not appear in the new episodes, the couple recently extended their multi-year, first-look deal with the streaming platform.
Prince Harry Displays Humor & Warmth at the WellChild Awards
Harry, known for his approachable nature, brought humor to his interactions at the ceremony. When speaking with 17-year-old Declan Bitmead, who won the Inspirational Young Person (15–18) award, he joked about siblings and made a self-deprecating quip about his appearance.
“Does he drive you mad?” Harry asked after hearing about Declan’s younger brother. When told the two got along well, Harry replied, “You know what, siblings,” and laughed. Later, he joked, “I’m bald and ginger, and worst of all, I’ve got a ginger beard — you’re thinking phew.”
The event, which honors the resilience of children facing severe health challenges, clearly resonated with Harry. “I have always said for many years that I still have a child inside of me, and I think all of us do, and being amongst these kids brings that out of me,” he told attendees.
Why Harry Stepped Back From Meghan’s Netflix Series
While Meghan continues to shine with her series, Harry made the conscious decision not to appear in the second season. According to royal expert Jennie Bond, the couple is now focusing on separate projects while continuing to support each other’s passions.
“They are going their own ways now,” Bond told The Mirror. “Harry has taken a conscious step back and this is Meghan’s thing.”
The Duke and Duchess remain aligned in their broader vision, however. Their Netflix deal and joint philanthropic efforts continue to reflect their commitment to storytelling, advocacy, and community impact.
