Janelle Brown has a new reason to smile.
The “Sister Wives” star, 57, surprised fans on Tuesday, Aug. 18, when she revealed that she has a boyfriend four years after announcing the end of her relationship with Kody Brown.
Brown introduced her new romance on Instagram with a selfie showing herself alongside her boyfriend, whom she identified as Pete.

“Some chapters are meant to unfold quietly before they’re shared,” Brown captioned the photo. “I wasn’t looking. I certainly wasn’t expecting you. And somehow, you turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I needed. And it has been pretty wonderful.”
She then officially introduced him to her followers, writing, “Everyone please meet Pete.”
Fans immediately celebrated the unexpected relationship reveal, with many expressing excitement over seeing Brown happy again.

Another fan joked, “Pete!! If you don’t treat our girl right… We’re comin’ for ya.”
Others were equally enthusiastic, with one commenter writing, “Celebrating for you. You deserve every bit of happiness!”
Another added, “That smile! Love seeing the joy on both of your faces here.”
Brown’s romance comes after her lengthy relationship with Kody. The pair entered a spiritual marriage in 1993 and share six children. Brown was Kody’s second wife, following his spiritual marriage to Meri Brown.
After Christine Brown left Kody in 2021, Janelle announced her own separation from him in 2022, bringing an end to their nearly three-decade relationship.

Since then, Janelle has continued building a life of her own, including relocating to North Carolina earlier this year.
The TLC star has also shared glimpses of her new home and property on social media. In April, she showed followers the front porch, where she had set up an outdoor seating area and was working on making the space more comfortable.
“Over the weekend, I found the cushions for my patio set. So I have it now set up on the front porch,” she said in an Instagram Reel. “I need to figure out how to make it cute. Like, I’ve got to find some rugs, maybe some greenery that doesn’t require a lot of upkeep.”
Brown also said she was looking forward to spending time outside with her family, particularly as her grandchildren visit between family homes.
“The grandkids have kind of developed a pattern of going back and forth between the houses, but the weather is still so beautiful here,” she said. “I’m just looking forward to this season of sitting on my porch, watching the kids play and relaxing after hard work.”
She even declared in the post’s caption, “I think I found my favorite place in the house… and it’s not inside.”
Now, Brown appears to have another favorite part of this new chapter: Pete.
While she has not shared many details about their relationship yet, her first post makes one thing clear. Brown wasn’t searching for romance when she met him — but she seems very happy with where life has taken her.
