‘Welcome to Plathville’: 5 Fast Facts About Lydia Plath’s Husband Zac Wyse

Lydia Plath tied the knot with her husband, Zac Wyse, during Season 7 of TLC’s “Welcome to Plathville.” Lydia is the fifth child of Barry Plath and Kim Plath’s 10 children. She began filming for the family’s reality show when she was 15.

Now 22, viewers have watched Lydia grow up on screen. She has always been one of the more reserved members of the Plath family. However, fans have finally begun to witness Lydia find her voice, especially when it comes to defending her husband, Zac, against the rest of her family.

As fans saw on the show, Zac received less than a warm welcome when meeting Lydia’s family. Lydia’s mother, Kim Plath, along with some of the Plath siblings, expressed concerns that the relationship was moving too quickly and that they needed more time to get to know him.

With that in mind, here are five fast facts about Zac Wyse, the newest addition to the “Welcome to Plathville” family.

1. Zac Wyse and Lydia Plath Got Married in 2025

Zac and Lydia tied the knot on February 22, 2025, at the Plath family farm in Georgia. The couple had a whirlwind romance that led to a quick trip to the altar.

The duo met just four months before Zac popped the question in December 2024. The engagement lasted even shorter, just two months, before the couple found themselves exchanging vows.

On “The Jinger and Jeremy Podcast,” Lydia revealed to the hosts that she just knew that Zac was the one immediately.

The TLC star shared that she already had a date lined up with someone else when she met Zac.

Lydia admitted that she called this other suitor and pretty much told him straight up, “I just need to let you know that I found the one. So, I don’t know if there’s any point in us going out.”

2. Zac Wyse Chose a Blue Suit for His Wedding Day

Zac Wyse made a notable style choice for his wedding to Lydia Plath. The groom actually chose the colors for his wedding to Lydia.

As seen on “Welcome to Plathville,” Lydia had envisioned a different color scheme for their ceremony at her family’s Georgia farm. Lydia had wanted to go with hunter green for their wedding colors. However, Zac vehemently denied his bride’s request.

Speaking to TLC cameras, the groom admitted that he already had a blue suit that he really loved, so the wedding colors had to be blue.

Zac went on to share with viewers, “I really pop in that blue suit. My eyes are blue as well, so it does pop.”

After receiving feedback from fans, Lydia took to social media to defend Zac. In her Instagram post, the TLC star wrote, “My mom expressed her concerns that Zac was “controlling and usurping” my desires around the wedding, and that’s the FARTHEST thing from the truth.”

Lydia went onto clarify, “I was not set on a specific color for the wedding, but forest green, blue and rose were the colors I had thought would look nice. So as we discussed details, we decided blues would be our color! And I’m so happy with how it all came together!”

3. Zac Wyse Has a Complicated Relationship With the Plath Brothers

Given the couple’s quick trip to the altar, many of Lydia’s family members had their reservations about Zac, especially the three Plath brothers: Ethan, Micah, and Isaac.

Having gone through a divorce himself, Ethan Plath was most concerned about the future of his younger sister’s marriage. Ethan questioned the couple’s decision to save their first kiss for their wedding day and Zac’s ability to love his sister.

The oldest Plath brother even went on to question Zac’s sexuality. Ethan later apologized to the couple for his comments. However, that doesn’t mean the relationship has been totally repaired.

Along with having a complicated relationship with Zac, the Plath brothers have their own complicated relationship. Micah Plath and his younger brother, Isaac Plath, actually got into a physical altercation at Zac and Lydia’s wedding.

The physical fight led to Micah needing multiple stitches on his nose. This family fight also led Micah to finally call it quits with his longtime girlfriend, Veronica Peters, much to the Plath family’s delight.

4. Zac Wyse Is Originally From Kansas

While appearing on “The Jinger and Jeremy Podcast,” Zac revealed that he grew up in Kansas. The TLC star is originally from Hays, Kansas, and later moved to Colorado.

Lydia and Zac actually met in Colorado when the two were both attending the same church event. That’s where sparks flew, and Zac asked Lydia out. The two went on many hiking dates together.

Reflecting on their early courtship, Zac shared, “You’re above 13,000 feet for like seven hours, and so that kind of started our journey.”

5. Zac Wyse Has a Passion for Tennis

In regard to his career, Zac shared with TLC cameras that he has a passion for tennis.

Since tying the knot, Zac has posted on social media about working as a tennis coach. He’s even given his bride a few lessons.

On her Instagram, Lydia posted a Reel of the duo during a tennis lesson. The TLC star captioned the post, “Tennis date with the best coach!”

Fans weighed in on the lesson, with one commenting, “What a sweet blessing that God has given you each other.”

Another noted, “Yay!! You play tennis, and that is wonderful! It’s good for your health and good for your marriage!”

Fans can catch more of Lydia and Zac on Season 8 of “Welcome to Plathville,” which is set to premiere on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
