All the TV Streaming Services Raising Prices in 2026

In today’s world, many of the best TV shows and movies are available on various streaming platforms, with a solid number of them being originals for their respective services, such as Netflix and Hulu. However, in 2026, most of the most popular streaming services are hiking their prices, with Apple TV being the latest.

According to Deadline, Apple TV announced on August 28 that, effective immediately, subscriptions for new and existing customers in the U.S. will increase from $12.99 to $14.99. Those with annual subscriptions will see their prices increase from $99 to $119.

Apple One subscribers are also being impacted; their price is changing from $19.95 per month to $21.95 per month. Notably, Apple One bundles multiple subscriptions, including music, TV, and storage. Existing customers will receive an official notification one month before being charged the new rate.

Apple last raised its subscription rates around this time in 2025.

Another streaming service that announced a round of price hikes in 2026 is Netflix. Regarding the first change, people with the ad-supported subscription went from $7.99 to $8.99 per month. The standard subscription went from $17.99 to $19.99 per month.

Those who want a premium Netflix subscription now pay $26.99, up from $24.99.

Paramount+ is another of the popular streaming services that has raised its prices so far in 2026. Before the change, subscribers were paying $7.99 for the essential tier. However, following the price hike, the cost is now $8.99.

The ad-free version of the Paramount+ subscription is now $10.99, which is one dollar more than customers previously paid.

Peacock Subscribers Are Also Paying More

Peacock is gaining steam among streaming services thanks to its many new original shows and its inclusion of Bravo content. However, the company announced a new round of price hikes in August 2026. With the change, a Select Monthly subscription costs $8.99, up one dollar.

The premium tier is now $12.99, up from $10.99. The highest subscription tier previously cost $16.99 but is now $19.99. The price changes also affect annual subscriptions, with the lowest plan now costing $89.99, up from $79.99.

The respective prices for the next two tiers are $129.99 and $199.99.

Enter Prime Video Ulta

Prime Video has also become one of the most talked-about streaming services. This has largely been the case because, until recently, the cost for an ad-free subscription was only $2.99 more than the normal Amazon Prime rate.

However, according to Variety, the company has now rebranded the ad-free tier as Prime Video Ultra, which costs $4.99 per month.

Other Less Common Streaming Services Are Also Raising Prices

Nowadays, there are seemingly countless options for streaming services. One less-traditional option is Sling TV, which essentially functions like a cable subscription. In 2026, the company is raising the price for its Sling Blue package. However, the cost is dependent on local channel availability. The change could be between $4 and $55. Similar to Sling TV, Fubo’s TV plans have increased by $15. The sports plans are up $9.

Additionally, DirecTV streaming has increased its prices by up to $14. Plex is another option, and a lifetime pass has now gone from $249.99 to $749.99.

AMC+ is one of the streaming services that mostly houses content from a single network. As of 2026, the base price is going from $6.99 to $7.99. The ad-free version now costs $10.99, up $1.

Crunchyroll, an anime streaming platform, has also changed its pricing, with all plans costing $1 more. Starz, another streaming service focused on a single network, is raising its price from $10.99 to $11.99. Shudder, a horror-focused streaming service, has increased its ad-free pricing from $8.99 to $9.99.

Regarding ESPN, the price of a Select subscription will increase from $12.99 to $13.99 starting September 17. The unlimited tier will go from $29.99 to $31.99.
