Brooke Shields Hilariously Demonstrates How She Shuts Down Online Bullies: Watch

Time waits for no one, and that includes celebrities. However, those stars who eschew nips and tucks and embrace the passage of time rather than trying to hide it open themselves up to online bullying by haters who gleefully point out that they’re not as young as they once were.

Brooke Shields takes comments like that in stride, which she demonstrated in a hilarious video that her daughter, Grier Henchy, shared with followers via TikTok.

In the video, Grier plays the part of an online bully, hurling mean comments at her 61-year-old mom that are representative of the kind of trash-talk she’s experienced on the internet.

“OK, I’m going to insult you like a bully, and you need to tell me how you would respond,” Grier told her mother in the TikTok video.

“You have a lot of gray hairs,” Grier said, which prompted her mother to fire back, “It’s a sign of maturity.”

She then said, “You’re so fat that every time you sit on a chair, it breaks.”

Shields thought about that one for a second, and then casually remarked, “When was the last time that I would’ve even been near you at a dinner table?” with the “you” referring to the imaginary bully.

The Perfect Putdown

Grier kept the hypothetical insults coming, next offering, “You’re one of the most annoying people I’ve ever met.”

Shields lobbed back the perfect comeback. “Well, I’m really famous, so I think it worked out okay,” she quipped.

“There are so many wrinkles on your forehead,” Henchy then said, with her mom firing back, “It’s because I’m worried about the world because it’s inhabitated [sic] by people like you.”

Fans Are Loving Her Attitude

Fans quickly filled up the comments section with praise for Shields and her calm, matter-of-fact comebacks.

“Your mom is amazing!” reads one comment, while another declared, “Brooke is a LEGEND!”

“Who on earth is even relevant enough to bully THE Brooke Shields?” asked a different commenter.

“Her answer every time should be I’M Brooke Shields,” summed up another of the star, who’s recently appeared in such Hallmark Channel productions as the “Flower Shop Mystery” movies and “When Calls the Heart.”

Aging Gracefully

Of course, growing older under the harsh glare of the spotlight is a topic that is certainly not unfamiliar to the “Suddenly Susan” star.

In fact, she’s written an entire book about it, “Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman.”

“People will say, ‘Oh, you’re still beautiful!’ What do you mean still? Or, to my kids, ‘Your mother used to be so beautiful.’ Excuse me?” Shields told Allure in a 2024 interview.

As she explained, she’s come to understand that comments like that say more about the people who state them than they do about her. Because she’s been a celebrity since the age of 11, she now recognizes that she’s a part of others people’s youths — and the realization that Shields has grown older is a harsh reminder that so have her fans.

“It’s about them,” she added, insisting she doesn’t take comments like that personally.

“It’s about when they were younger and they experienced me,” she explained. “It’s a very interesting psychological thing that happens to people. I’m not allowed to age, because what does that do to them? It makes them exponentially that much older.”
