‘60s Sitcom Star Makes Rare Appearance With Twin Sister Years After They Starred on ‘Bewitched’

Erin Murphy is bringing a piece of her past back into the spotlight. More than five decades after their television debut, the “Bewitched” alum reunited with her twin sister Diane for a rare red carpet appearance.

Murphy, 61, attended a screening of the Lifetime film “Love, Again” on Thursday, May 1, where the siblings posed together for photos. The appearance marked a rare public moment for the sisters, who first rose to fame sharing the role of Tabitha.

“Fun night at the Love, Again screening with my sis,” Murphy wrote on Facebook.

“We had a great time at the Love, Again screening at the Television Academy,” she wrote. “I’m a voting member for the Emmys, and they have tons of events with great food and Q & A’s with the actors.”

“Love, Again,” which premieres May 9, 2026, stars Valerie Bertinelli and Eric McCormack as two people who find love later in life.

From ‘Bewitched’ to Today: A Shared Beginning

The sisters’ journey in the spotlight began in 1966, when they were cast as Tabitha Stephens on the hit ABC series “Bewitched.” As young twins, they shared the role of Samantha and Darrin’s magical daughter, creating memories that would stay with them for a lifetime.

While Murphy remained with the show, Diane stepped away after 21 episodes, choosing a life beyond the entertainment world. As they grew older, their paths naturally diverged, but their bond remained strong.

Murphy has often spoken fondly of her sister’s choice. In a 2025 interview with Celebrity Drop, Erin said, “She’s more reserved.”

“She’s, you know, quieter than I am. And she works in medical writing. She’s done that for many years, and she’s very successful at it.”

A Lasting Bond Beyond the Spotlight

While their careers took different turns, the sisters have remained close.

Murphy has often spoken about how their personalities complement one another, even as their lives followed separate paths.

“[Show business] is not for everybody. I mean, not everybody likes the lights, the camera, the attention, and all that. It’s a lot. And she’s not like that,” she said in the same interview.

After “Bewitched” ended in 1972, Murphy stepped away from acting at a young age and focused on life beyond the industry.

“I was offered jobs right after Bewitched, and I turned them down,” she said in a past interview. “I went to Girl Scout camp instead of doing a part on The Waltons. So I kind of walked away from the business.”

Will Erin Murphy Join a ‘Bewitched’ Reboot?

Murphy is open to returning to the world that first made her a household name. She recently shared her thoughts on a possible reboot of the beloved series.

Murphy said she would welcome the chance to be involved if the opportunity comes her way. “If they asked me to appear on the show, absolutely I would! I’d love to be included in some way, and I know fans of the original Bewitched would enjoy that fun reference to the past,” she said in an interview with New Idea in February 2026.

The actress, who appeared in more than 100 episodes of the original series, added that she feels “excited” about the idea of a new version of “Bewitched.”

She also noted that she has a personal connection to the project, saying she is friends with the reboot’s writer.
