‘American Idol’ Spoilers as Top 3 Finalists Return to Their Hometowns for Epic Celebrations

One of the most popular traditions of “American Idol” is when producers send each of the Top 3 finalists back to their hometowns for an emotional homecoming celebration, with footage of the parades, performances, and reunions shown during the finale.

On May 6, 2026, producers carried on that tradition with season 24’s Top 3 — Keyla Richardson, Hannah Harper, and Jordan McCullough. Full segments on their visits will air during the season finale on May 11, but we’ve got a few spoilers on what happened during their triumphant trips home.

Keyla Richardson & Her Son Drew Get Heroes’ Welcomes During ‘American Idol’ Hometown Return

Keyla Richardson, 29, headed home to Pensacola, Florida, for a parade in her honor and a jam-packed evening concert dubbed “Keyla Fest” at the Hunter Amphitheater. Thousands showed up, according to local outlet NorthEscambia.com, so there was overflow seating at Blue Wahoos Stadium with video of her concert shown on the baseball stadium’s massive screen.

Keyla’s adorable nine-year-old son Drew, who’s been her biggest cheerleader throughout the season, was right there with her throughout the day, sitting next to her in her parade car and appearing onstage during her concert. Keyla also visited the school where she is a music teacher and was swarmed by kids who were thrilled to see their beloved teacher, who’s now become a national star.

Hannah Harper Gets Huge Surprise Guest During Her ‘American Idol’ Hometown Visit

Hannah Harper, 25, returned to southeast Missouri, where she lives in the small town of Poplar Bluff with her husband and three young sons. According to My Iron County News, over 80 family members hosted a celebration on the evening of May 5, with a camera crew filming the event.

The next day, she was accompanied by her husband and boys in an open carriage for a parade through the town of Willow Springs, which officially declared May 6 as “Hannah Harper Day,” the outlet reported.

Harper then performed onstage at the Willow Springs High School football field, per the site, and country star Jo Dee Messina surprised the stay-at-home mom onstage to sing a duet with her.

Jordan McCullough’s Hometown Fans Braved Cold & Rainy Weather to Cheer Him On

Jordan McCullough, 27, headed home to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where he performed his homecoming concert at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex, according to The Tennessean. He told local station WKRN that reaching the Top 3 has “surpassed everything that I dreamt of.”

According to the Daily News Journal, he visited several of his former schools, including Oakland High School, where he graduated from. The outlet estimated a crowd of 1,000 showed up for a parade in his honor despite inclement weather. For his concert, about 3,100 fans cheered him on in the “cold rain,” the outlet said.

The live three-hour season 24 finale will air on May 11, starting at 8 p.m. Eastern time on ABC and Disney+. Viewers will be able to vote live during the show to determine which contestant will become the 2026 champion. Host Ryan Seacrest will announce who came in third place midway through the show, so early votes will be important for getting your favorite finalist into the Top 2.
