Carrie Underwood Surprises Church Congregation on Easter Morning by Leading Choir: VIDEOS

The congregation at Rolling Hills Community Church in Franklin, Tennessee, got an extra special treat on Easter morning. Country superstar and “American Idol” judge Carrie Underwood not only attended the Easter service there but led the choir in multiple worship songs on April 5, 2026.

Rolling Hills is Underwood’s home church, according to Taste of Country, located near the ranch she shares with her husband, former NHL player Mike Fisher, and their two sons. The “Jesus Take The Wheel” singer has been known to show up at the church and sing with the choir there from time to time.

On Easter 2026, a social media influencer known as EmilyUnscripted posted multiple videos from the service, including Underwood performing “How Great Thou Art” — the same tune she sang during the live “American Idol” Songs of Faith episodes a week prior and in the spring of 2024.

The caption of the video said, “When Carrie Underwood sings at your Easter service… just one of those moments you don’t forget … the kind that gives you chills and makes you pause for a second.”

Fans Are Amazed Seeing Carrie Underwood at Church: ‘I’d Pass Away’

In another video, Underwood and the church choir were seen singing Charity Gayle’s “Name Above All Names,” described as “too wonderful not to share” by EmilyUnscripted. Fans flooded the comment sections of both of her videos, amazed that she got to see Underwood at her Easter service.

One wrote, “I can’t even imagine seeing Carrie Underwood at my church” and someone else commented, “I’d pass away if I went to church and carrie was singing”

Another parishioner chimed in, “I was there in row 5 and it was the most moving Easter service I’ve been to in a long long time! Thank you Jesus! ❤️”

Carrie Underwood Also Performed ‘Redeemer’ on Easter Sunday

Nicole Mullen, who wrote the popular worship song “Redeemer,” posted a video of Underwood singing the song on Easter Sunday, enthusiastically giving the Grammy winner her stamp of approval.

She captioned the post, “When @carrieunderwood sings Redeemer (2nd verse…) with Power and Conviction 🔥🙏🏽💖… I’m like, WOWWW!!! It reminds me that the song and The Redeemer belongs to ALL of Us!!”

Underwood has performed with her church’s choir before, with videos circulating of her onstage. In August 2024, a video of Underwood singing Bethel Music’s “Goodness of God” with the choir and musicians made the rounds on social media. In September 2025, Thrive Worship shared a video of her singing “Pour Out Your Spirit” at the church.
