Carrie Underwood is killing it with her gardening this year, and her latest vegetable growing success has her plans plenty impressed. See what’s growing in the “American Idol” winner’s garden that’s taken off in a big way.
Carrie Underwood Shows Off Impressive Gardening Success
On August 29, Underwood took to Instagram to give fans a look at a squash plant that’s thriving in her garden.
“I have always read great things about the tromboncino squash and thought I’d give it a try this year,” she noted in the caption. “I’m a lazy gardener and I just throw seeds in the ground and hope for the best. 🤷♀️ Only one germinated … thank goodness! Can’t wait to see how it all turns out!”
In the video, she gives a tour of the plant in her garden. “So, this is my first year growing tromboncino squash … and I planted a few seeds, hoping they would germinate,” she explained. “But y’all, this is one plant. This is one plant!”
She added, “I’m really glad the other ones didn’t come up because I’d be in trouble. It’s a climber anyway, but good gracious, I clearly was not prepared for the tromboncino squash. We’re just going to try to tame her as she grows.”
Fans lit up the comments section to praise the “American Idol” judge for her win in the garden. “Carrie and the Beanstalk!” one fan joked. Another noted, “Well done Carrie. I can’t grow anything.”
Others noted, “Wow! You have a Huge green thumb! Nice!” and “Wow, those are beautiful leaves. I have not heard of that squash. Keep us posted on what you do with it.”
Other fans commented, “That’s awesome!!! You’re the queen of gardening,” “Carrie, your garden is beautiful,” and “Wow! Impressive!”
“I love the gardening updates!” one fan noted. “Keep ’em coming!”
Carrie Underwood Is a Canning Queen Too
Gardening isn’t her only talent — she also showed off her canning skills in a June 9 Instagram post. The singer explained that she had been hard at work preserving food in jars so that nothing went to waste.
“My boys were away for the weekend so I decided to get rid of some of the stuff that was in the big freezer,” she explained in the caption. “Canning is the perfect way to make use of everything and save myself some time later on when I need a quick meal!”
Underwood continued, “I put about 35 (??) ish pheasants into some soup and pot pie filling, got rid of some of last year’s black and blueberries and made some cobbler filling and tried to do something with all the plums we’ve got growing here. Not sure if I made jam or plum butter or some sort of sauce out of it, but I’ll figure out something to do with it!”
She added, “I feel accomplished!!! Yay me!”
