As Justin Trudeau continues his romance with Katy Perry, he’s made a major move in his personal life. He just bought a $3.1 million mansion in Montreal that is more than just a little impressive.
Amid buzz around the purchase, the former Canadian Prime Minister and “American Idol” alum “were spotted having lunch at Leméac, a French bistro less than a mile from his sprawling new property,” according to the Daily Mail. As for his new home, “he proudly showed [it] off to the singer” not long after snapping it up.
Justin Trudeau’s Impressive Home Even Has a Ballroom
“Trudeau purchased the new house in mid-January for $4.26 million CAD and, according to public records, finalized the deal” on February 9, the Daily Mail notes.
Built in 1931, the “nearly 100-year-old 4,965 sq ft stone mansion in Montreal’s upscale Outremont neighborhood” sits “on a 13,672-square-foot lot in the shadow of Mount Royal,” per the Daily Mail. The large home offers the new owner seven bedrooms and five bathrooms as well as an office and even “its own ballroom for entertaining.”
The Daily Mail also explains that “[t]he property, protected by a metal fence and surrounded by mature trees and shrubs, has two street addresses: On the north side there is a driveway and a gated pathway while on the south side there is a two-car garage and stone steps leading up to the home.”
Justin & Katy’s Relationship Has ‘Gotten Much More Serious’
There’s a good chance that Perry will be spending time at Trudeau’s new home. That’s because a source told Entertainment Tonight on Wednesday, February 18, that the couple’s relationship has “gotten much more serious.”
”He is supportive of her and encouraging, and she feels confident about herself with him,” the source explained.
While buzz around the pair started last summer after they were spotted having dinner in Montreal, Trudeau hard launched his relationship with his “partner” Perry on December 4, 2025. That was just before Perry went Instagram official with her Canadian boyfriend. Since then, they’ve been appearing regularly on each other’s social media pages and popping up at appearances together.
“Justin came into Katy’s life at the perfect time, “ the source also told ET. “She is smitten with him.”
When ET took to Instagram to share the insider’s info, fans of the pair left adoring comments on the post.
“Beautiful Couple ❤️❤️,” one person wrote.
Another social media user added, “They actually do look good with each other.”
“I love them together ❤️❤️❤️,” a third person wrote.
