Two months after pop superstar Katy Perry, 40, and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 53, were first spotted dining together in July 2025, new photos have fans buzzing again about their relationship status.
On October 11, 2025, the Daily Mail published photos of the former “American Idol” judge kissing and embracing Trudeau aboard her 78-foot yacht, the Caravelle, off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.

The photos, taken in late September by a tourist aboard another boat, show Perry in a bathing suit and Trudeau in jeans and shirtless, holding each other and kissing.
An eyewitness told the Daily Mail, “She pulled up her boat next to a small public whale-watching boat, then they started making out. I didn’t realise who she was with until I saw the tattoo on the guy’s arm, and I immediately realised it was Justin Trudeau.”
In 2012, Trudeau tweeted that the tattoo on his upper left arm depicts “planet Earth inside a Haida raven. The globe I got when I was 23; the Robert Davidson raven for my 40th birthday.”

TMZ later published additional photos of the duo, taken less than two hours before their dinner, as they casually walked a dog together along Mount Royal Park. Perry was on her Lifetimes tour in Canada, and days later — on July 31 — Trudeau was filmed in the front row of her Montreal concert, attending with his daughter.

An inside source told the outlet, “I know for a fact that Justin wasn’t thrilled about the pictures getting out. It was a first date. A first date! And these pictures came out and it became this huge thing, which is not what he seems to have wanted.”
In September, a source told Us Weekly that the two had decided to continue seeing each other privately, speaking long distance as her tour continued.
By early October, the Daily Mail reported that its inside source said Perry was “very, very interested” in Trudeau, even telling the outlet they were “enamored” with each other.
“She says he’s a real catch, a high-quality guy,” the source said. “She keeps a lot of details to herself, but she clearly still likes him a lot.”
Perry’s Lifetimes Tour, which was the reason for her departure from “American Idol” in 2024, has been a smashing success, with over 1.1 million tickets sold and gross earnings of more than $80 million in the U.S., Canada, and Australia, according to figures reported by Billboard. The tour is scheduled to end on December 7.
