‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ Staffer Reveals Why the Show May Be Ending: Report

Two sources close to Kelly Clarkson, including one staffer of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” have opened up in an interview with Daily Mail about the 43-year-old wanting to put her best foot forward before finally closing the curtain on her talk show after seven seasons.

The report comes just one week after Page Six revealed that the hit NBC show would be coming to a “definite” end once this season is finished.

The first source shared with the Daily Mail that Clarkson “is going to continue to give it her all this season, but she would like to wind it down and end it while still on top.”

The insider elaborated on the “Stronger” singer wanting to shift her focus on other things despite her ability to transform anything she does into a success. “Kelly has had an incredible life, and everything she touches seems to become a hit,” the first source said. “She loves her talk show, but it is on the bottom of her list of things she would like to continue doing moving forward.”

Although Clarkson could likely end her eponymous talk show after season 7, a second source, who works for the “American Idol” star, said that Clarkson finally has the light back in her eyes after the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, in August 2025.

“Kelly is somewhat back to where things were before Brandon died, but she’s not entirely there yet,” the second source shared, adding that she began “engaging with us about our lives” for the first time since her personal life took precedence over her career.

“She knows every single person on the crew by name, every member of staff. She knows who our husbands and wives are,” the second source added. “She treats us like we’re friends, not just co-workers.”

Although the fate of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” will be in the hands of Clarkson, the first source explained how her staff is rooting for the show to continue.

“Everyone wants Kelly to stay and sign a new contract. That is the ultimate goal,” they said.

Since the death of Blackstock, Clarkson has been the family frontrunner for their two children, River Rose, 11, and Remy, 9. According to the first source, the “Because of You” singer would like to spend more time with her kids in the wake of them losing their dad.

“Kelly has one foot out the door. It isn’t a money play; she just wants to do something else, and she wants to be with her family more,” the insider said.

Despite ongoing speculation of if “The Kelly Clarkson Show” will continue or not, Clarkson has not yet announced her decision. The end of the current season will be spring ‘26.
