Lauren Alaina is embracing her newest role with a full heart. The “American Idol” alum recently opened up about life with her baby daughter, sharing the moments that mean the most to her, from the way her little girl looks at her to watching her husband step into fatherhood. For Alaina, motherhood hasn’t just changed up her routine, but it’s completely reshaped her priorities in the sweetest way possible.
Changing Everything in the ‘Best Way Possible’
The season 10 runner-up of “American Idol” sat down with “Dancing With the Stars” season 27 winner Bobby Bones to discuss motherhood, her husband, Cam Arnold, and their first child, daughter Beni Doll.
On the “Bobby Bones Show,” Alaina said, “It is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. And everyone says that. … When they hand you that baby, your whole life changes. I guess my favorite part is the way she looks at me. I’ve never had someone look at me like that.”
While Lauren said Beni is “completely dependent” on her, she has no issue with that. Alaina said, “What a gift that I get to be the one that can nurture her and take care of her. My second favorite is probably watching my husband with her. I love him so much more. And I already loved him, but watching him father her is pretty special.”
Lauren Alaina’s Husband as a Father
Alaina wed Arnold in 2024. She states she was already crazy about him, but now she is even more in love with him after seeing him be a father to their little girl.
“He has a dance party with her every day when he gets home from work,” Alaina reveals. “So he will turn the music on in the living room, and picks her up, and they dance. And now, she’s eight months old; it’s almost like she expects the dance party. Just the way he interacts with her. When she was really little, he was a little scared of her, I think.”
Beni has brought out a side of her husband that she’s never seen before. Lauren said, “Just the way he talks to her, and the way he interacts with her, I’ve just never seen that side of him. And it’s so sweet.”
Balancing Work & Motherhood
Work never stops for parents. Beni may be eight months old, but Alaina is already back on the road. She is the opening act on Rascal Flatts’ 2026 Life Is A Highway Tour, but she gets to bring Beni on the road with her.
Lauren told Country Now, “I always dreamed of being on stage and dreamed of touring and doing all of this. And I wanted to be a mom, but I didn’t see how that would fit in, and I didn’t know how I would meet the right guy or do any of those things. And it’s so funny, now my dream is them. They are my dream, and the other part is the bonus.”
With motherhood, it sounds like the 31-year-old is working on a new album, which will celebrate this new chapter as a mother.
Alaina said, “It’s completely flipped for me. But I think that, for me, mentally, [it] has put me in a really safe place to create. I still have anxiety. And I’m like, ‘Where are we going on tour next year, and what are we doing, and when’s the album coming out,’ and all of that. But at the end of the day, I look at Beni, and she smiles at me, and I’m like, ‘Well, whatever. It’s all going to be great as long as we can provide for her and give her a beautiful life.’ That’s what matters to me now.”
