Who Won ‘American Idol’ 2026? Finale Results

After months of competition and a three-hour grand finale, it was time to crown a new winner of “American Idol” on May 11, 2026. The champion joins an exclusive club, becoming only the 24th person to win the show, receiving a cash prize, tons of exposure, and the chance to work with record label execs they never would have had access to before.

Ahead of the finale, the competition had been narrowed down to just three incredible singers — Hannah Harper, Jordan McCullough, and Keyla Richardson. After the first two rounds of the live finale, Ryan Seacrest revealed the contestant who came in third place was Keyla. That left a little less than two hours for viewers to decide whether Hannah or Jordan would be crowned the winner.

After a jam-packed finale of star-studded performances, songs by the judges, and the return of many finalists, it was finally time to crown the 2026 winner. Following the final commercial break, Seacrest revealed that the 2026 winner is… HANNAH HARPER!

About ‘American Idol’ WINNER Hannah Harper

Hannah Harper of Willow Springs, Missouri, wowed judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood in her audition. She sang her original song, “String Cheese,” about her struggle with postpartum depression, which instantly went viral after judge Carrie Underwood wiped away tears and said it was “the most relatable song I’ve ever heard.”

With each “American Idol” round she breezed through, Hannah was accompanied on the road by her husband, Devon Mendenhall, and their three sons. She did grow up in a bluegrass family band, but didn’t realize just how hard it would be trying to juggle being a mom and a contestant on “American Idol.”

In mid-March, Hannah vulnerably shared how challenging it was while fielding questions from her growing legion of fans via her Instagram Stories. When one asked, “What do you enjoy LEAST about your life right now?” Harper shared an honest response.

Over a photo of one of her boys asleep in her husband’s lap on a plane, Harper wrote, “Feeling pulled in too many directions. Some days I wish there were two of me — one who could chase every music dream God has placed in my heart, and another who could stay home and just be the mama she once was.”

That might be hard now that she’s skyrocketed to fame on “American Idol,” with press appearances and a future music career to tend to. But we have a feeling she’ll beautifully balance that with her devotion to her family and faith.

About ‘American Idol’ Runner-Up Jordan McCullough

Jordan became a breakout star of “American Idol” with his flawless and soulful performances week after week. His Top 30 peers voted for him to receive their Platinum Ticket during the Hawaii round, which granted him an automatic spot in the Top 20.

During the finale, Underwood told him that he was consistently “perfect,” noting that they were “so spoiled” to watch his performances throughout the competition.

The 27-year-old worship leader hails from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and is the oldest of seven boys — a role he told producers he takes incredibly seriously as a role model. During his hometown visit, he cried hearing some of his brothers explain how much he has inspired them.

Jordan never imagined that he’d get as far as he did on “American Idol,” but has loved every minute.

“Monday nights are my favorite nights of the week because I’ve waited for this,” he told TVLine. “This is what my dream has been, performing on the ‘Idol’ stage, so I’m not necessarily nervous to perform. There are a lot of other things at stake, but once I step on that stage, it’s game over in my mind. All bets are off. I’m just up there performing my heart out.”
