Chris Evans may be a Hollywood star, but he was born and raised on the East Coast. That’s why, after spending years living in Los Angeles, the Marvel superhero has left California behind to move back home and, in the process, is selling his Hollywood Hills house for just under $6.4 million.
“Massachusetts native Evans, who has owned the home since 2013, when he purchased it for $3.52 million,” talked to Realtor.com “about his decision to walk away from the dwelling, explaining that, while he has loved living in L.A., the time has come for him to relocate back to the East Coast with his wife, Alba Baptista, and their daughter, Alma.”
Getty“The West Coast is beautiful, and I’ve spent more than a decade in this home enjoying Los Angeles,” Evans said. “But I’ve decided to spend more time on the East Coast. It feels like the right moment to pass this beautiful property to the next owner.”
The star initially put his Hollywood Hills home on the market a year ago and was asking almost $7 million for the property. Now, with a bit of a price cut, he may be able to attract a buyer for the impressive abode.

Found above Mulholland Drive, Evans’ “split-level structure clad in beige stucco and stone is tucked away behind greenery-encased walls and security gates on a parcel spanning three-quarters of an acre,” according to Robb Report. Originally built in the 1940s, it has been renovated in the years since.
When residents head inside the home, they’ll find “[v]aulted open-beam ceilings, vast picture windows, and refined finishes infuse each room with air, light, and composure,” notes the listing from Scott Moore of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California. “The main living spaces revolve around a dramatic fireplace and connect fluidly to a generous dining area with a sleek wet bar every detail engineered for both aesthetic impact and effortless use.”
Home cooks will appreciate the fact that “[t]he chef’s kitchen sits at the heart of the home beneath natural skylights anchored by a 60-inch Wolf range beneath a 10-foot custom hood, Sub-Zero refrigeration, dual Thermador dishwashers, a Miele espresso system, and Bianca marble counters,” per the listing.
The abode’s primary suite is located in the southern wing and is described by the listing as “an elevated sanctuary opening to an Ipe-wood deck overlooking the Santa Monica Mountains. A limestone-and-Calacatta-marble bath with radiant floors, steam shower, and freestanding tub creates a spa environment defined by light and stillness.”
GettyThat’s not to overlook the Marvel connection. The listing explains that “Evans personally outfitted the home’s private gym as his Captain America training space,” while “transforming the estate into a secluded environment that radiates focus and renewal.”
Beyond that, the listing tells potential buyers that “[e]very room opens to terraces, vineyard-inspired gardens, and a pool-and-spa oasis oriented toward cinematic sunsets over Laurel Canyon.”
The Property Is Just as Enviable as the House
As if the home itself wasn’t impressive enough, the property is just as dreamy. Indeed, the listing points out that, “[s]et at the end of one of the most coveted dead-end streets with commanding A+ views, the property [is] defined by serenity and intention.”
Outside of the main dwelling, owners can find a guesthouse that “includes its own kitchen, office, and Captain America-inspired gym, extending the property’s distinctive energy to every visitor,” the listing is sure to mention.
“The grounds themselves feel almost enchanted,” the listing also explains. “Mature coral trees anchor lush gardens and vine-draped terraces that evoke a natural flow of light and energy throughout the day. Multiple patios, stone pathways, and hidden sitting areas create a park-like atmosphere that shifts effortlessly from meditative retreat to glamorous entertaining space. The entire property carries an unmistakable sense of balance privacy without isolation, grandeur without pretense.”
