Repairs are underway at Dolly Parton’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star after the country music legend’s name was scratched off just days after her death.
Video shared by KNX News on Tuesday, Sept. 1, showed crews working on Parton’s star on Hollywood Boulevard.
The outlet reported that the star had been vandalized, with images showing damage to Parton’s name.
One fan wrote, “Wtf is wrong with people.”
“Give them community service and make them work 9-5,” another added.
A Source Added the Repairs Were Planned
Ana Martinez, a spokesperson for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, told TMZ that the star already had cracks and was scheduled to be repaired Tuesday.
Martinez also said a fan reported Monday night that flowers had been taken from the site and the star had been scratched.
Parton’s star was dedicated in 1984 at 6710 Hollywood Boulevard. The ceremony was held alongside actor Sylvester Stallone, her co-star in the 1984 film “Rhinestone.”
The damage came as fans continued gathering at the landmark to remember Parton, who died at 80. Flowers, candles and handwritten notes were placed around the star, along with other items connected to the singer and her career.

Tributes also included pink sunglasses, nail polish and Duncan Hines Dolly Parton cornbread mix, reflecting the wide-ranging influence Parton had on her fans.
Notes ranged from sweet tributes to what Parton meant to fans.
Parton’s Hollywood career became an important part of her legacy, particularly during the 1980s.
She starred alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin in the 1980 comedy “9 to 5,” which was based around three female employees who take revenge on their sexist boss. Parton also recorded the film’s title song, which became one of her signature hits.
She later appeared with Stallone in “Rhinestone,” playing a country singer who attempts to transform a New York City cab driver into a country music performer.
She also was in “Steel Magnolias” and made an appearance in her “Hannah Montana,” as she was the honorary godmother to Miley Cyrus.
Parton also appeared on “American Idol” and “The Voice” as a guest mentor.
The vandalism occurred shortly after Parton was laid to rest in a private funeral service attended by family.
Her niece Lainey Parton shared an emotional tribute on Instagram Saturday after the service, explaining that she waited until after her grandmother’s burial before writing about her loss.
“This is a really hard post for me to make. I wanted to wait until after my granny was laid to rest yesterday before I tried to put any of this into words,” Lainey wrote.
She remembered Parton as someone who encouraged and supported her throughout her life.
Lainey wrote that Parton “believed in me before I even knew how to believe in myself.”
“Because she couldn’t have kids of her own, she always made us feel like we were hers. She loved us that way, and I’ll forever be grateful for that,” she added.
Lainey accompanied the tribute with photographs spanning years of memories with Parton, including childhood pictures and moments with the singer onstage.
As fans continue to mourn Parton, her Hollywood Walk of Fame star remains a gathering place for people hoping to honor the country icon and celebrate the legacy she left behind.
