After taking home top honors in the category of Female Artist of the Year at the 61st ACM Awards night, 27-year-old Ella Langley got candid, sharing with the audience, “I’m trying to say something, but I can’t… Thank you. To the women in this category, to the women in this life, this is a weird thing to do. Today I was having a strange day. I don’t know what it is about awards, but I have strange days in the mornings here.”
The country music star continued, telling fans about the support she has received from fellow female artists in the industry, sharing, “I walked right into Lainey [Wilson’s] room, and I just got emotional, and she hugged me, wrapped me up, and started praying for me, and then all of a sudden, here comes Miranda Lambert in her little pink hat. And I would not be standing up here without just the encouragement of so many women. Kelsea [Ballerini], thank you so much for loving me.”
Ella Langley was up against Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Megan Moroney, and Lainey Wilson for Female Artist of the Year. Tying up her touching speech, Langley added, “Thank you to the women, I would not be standing up here without that. So, thank you.”

Country music fans know just how important faith and family are to Ella Langley, too. So, it was only fitting that the 27-year-old also thank her parents and Jesus for getting her this far.
During her speech, Langley shared, “Thank you to my parents for believing in me and my family for showing up and being weird as always, so it keeps me humble.”
The daughter of Jason and Heather Langley, the country music star grew up in Hope Hull, Alabama, with her sister and two brothers.
Langley concluded her speech, saying, “Thank you, Jesus, for letting me do this for a whip. Thank you to the ACMs.”
Ella Langley Makes ACM Awards History With Record-Breaking Wins
Ella Langley had a phenomenal year and cleaned house at the 61st ACM Awards night. The country star led the night in total wins, taking home seven trophies. This number of victories was record-breaking in itself as the most awards ever secured by a single artist has held strong at six, with Garth Brooks in 1991, Faith Hill in 1999, and Chris Stapleton in 2016.
Along with being named the Female Artist of the Year and Artist-Songwriter of the Year, Langley won Single of the Year and Song of the Year for the hit song, “Choosin’ Texas.” These were double award wins, too, as the country star won both as the artist and as the songwriter/producer of the song.
In addition to her solo award wins, Langley and Riley Green were both awarded the Music Event of the Year award for their performance of “Don’t Mind If I Do.”
