Country singer Jo Dee Messina has bravely opened up about the loss of her father. She shared a video on Instagram on Saturday, January 24, announcing that her beloved father had passed away. He died on January 23 and was 94.

Messina shared a clip on Instagram of her father wearing a red-and-black checkered shirt. He is sitting at the dining table and singing the song, “Daddy’s Little Girl.” He seems to be happy. In the caption, she wrote, “November 28, 1931–January 23, 2026, we lost my Dad last night. It doesn’t matter how old you are; it’s never easy to lose a parent. So much more to his story…”
