Bindi and Robert Irwin shared touching tributes to their late father, the Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, on what would have been his 64th birthday.

Bindi Irwin Shares Birthday Tribute to Dad Steve

“Happy Birthday, Dad. We miss you so much. Grace is so proud to tell everyone that Grandpa Crocodile is her guardian angel. Love you. Forever,” Bindi captioned a series of photos with the late Crocodile Hunter, which she shared via Instagram on Saturday, February 21.

Her mom and Steve’s widow, Terri Irwin, commented, “Your dad loved you so much, and was a proud girl dad!”

Bindi and Steve shared a special relationship before his tragic passing in September 2006.

“Incredibly honoured that Robert and Witney [Carson] danced to ‘Footprints In The Sand,’ a song that I dedicated to Dad 10 years ago during my time on Dancing With the Stars,” Bindi shared via Instagram in November as she cheered on her younger brother, Robert, on “Dancing With the Stars”.

She continued, “This dance healed part of my heart, and I hoped it would do the same for Robert.”

“Enormous gratitude to Derek [Hough] and Witney for giving us both the indescribable gift of dancing through grief and finding so much love and peace. And Robert, I know with all my heart that Dad is beaming with pride because of the wonderful man you are today,” Bindi concluded.

Robert was just two years old when his father passed away after being stung by a stingray while filming in the Great Barrier Reef.

“Would have been your birthday today. Love you, miss you… thank you for being a guiding light and inspiration every day,” Robert captioned a sweet throwback photo with the late conservationist.

Terri Irwin commented, “Your dad loved you so very much.”

Witney Carson—who, along with Robert, won the Mirrorball Trophy during season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars”—added, “Love you so much! I know he’s so proud of you ❤️‍🩹.”

Robert followed in his father’s footsteps as a conservationist and still helps manage Australia Zoo, his late father’s home.

“My dad exemplified what it was to truly live,” he told People in September. “He’s still part of every day, every conversation. I feel as though I get a little piece of him back in everything I hear about him or each photo I see. I have an even greater picture of who he was now that I’m reaching the same milestones he did as a young bloke. I feel closer to him, I really do.”
