“Dancing with the Stars” former professional dancer and current judge Derek Hough and his beautiful wife, Hayley Erbert, are counting down the days until their baby is born. And that day is going to be soon!
Hough is a busy guy, and his career has been flourishing. This year alone, he has been involved in so many projects, much to his fans’ delight. But sometimes his work also takes him away from home, and that is becoming increasingly stressful as Baby Hough’s due date fast approaches.
Derek Hough’s Baby Is Arriving Soon
The star shared his thoughts in a short Instagram video posted on Wednesday, December 3. In the clip, he reveals that he has to travel for a prior work commitment for Ovation by DanceOne, a convention and competition he has set up with his sister, Julianne Hough. However, he and Erbert were feeling nervous because their due date was approaching fast. “I’m going to Chicago, and it’s very exciting because it’s for Ovation, but also very nervous because this baby could literally come any day,” Hough tells the camera, showing Erbert’s baby bump.
Hough will be away for five days, and he and Erbert are hoping their baby doesn’t decide to make an early arrival. “Please, please,” Hough says in the clip as he urges his baby to wait until his return. “Stay in there, stay in there little one,” he adds, before joking that he was going to have to “keep the jets on” and hop back on the plane to “come deliver this baby.”
Erbert then laughs at her husband, and it’s just the most wholesome video on the internet today.
Fans Show Their Support
The couple has not shared Erbert’s exact due date publicly, nor have they revealed the baby’s gender, instead choosing to keep some things to themselves. They have shared a glimpse into Erbert’s pregnancy and their excitement to become parents, including celebrating their unborn baby with a gorgeous baby shower.
Fans reacted to Hough and Erbert’s post with messages of love and support. “That baby is going to be the most gorgeous child ever! But please… baby H cook until Daddy gets home!” a comment reads. “Honestly you would probably deliver it perfectly and then realize you’re good at that too. Ugh. Get outta here,” “The Bachelorette” star and former DWTS Mirrorball champion Kaitlyn Bristowe commented.
Other reactions include, “Safe travels. Getting excited daddy to be! You will be the best parents. The baby is lucky already!,” “Good thing that 1st labors off go past the due date. Enjoy and yes, stay in there baby,” and “1st babies love to cook! May this be the same! We’re excited to meet baby H. All the best to Haley!”
Former DWTS pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy also weighed in on the video, writing, “Book a flight for every day you’re there and cancel everyday you don’t use it ;).”
