Sharna Burgess reacted to the birth of Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert’s baby. The veteran “Dancing with the Stars” pro dancer appeared emotional in an Instagram story video on Jan. 5 as she updated her followers on the couple’s big baby news.
“Derek and Hayley had their baby!” Burgess told fans. “I love the name, so so much. So beautiful. So perfect.”
On Jan. 5, Hough and Erbert posted to Instagram to share a photo of their newborn’s feet as they held her. “December 29, 2025, Everley Capri Hough 🤍,” the DWTS couple shared. “Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed.”
Derek & Hayley Have Been Flooded With Congratulations From Their DWTS Family
Weeks before the baby’s birth, Hough told E! News that he was “emotional” thinking about the arrival of his first child.
“I get to guide, mentor, love this human being from day one,” the DWTS judge said. “It’s gonna be amazing and I’m looking forward to what it all is going to do and mean for me as a dad, as a person, as a man and what’s going to evolve within me and change.”
Hough and Erbert will have plenty of support from his DWTS family. Following the birth of baby Everley, the new parents were flooded with comments from the cast of the ABC ballroom show.
“Welcome to the world sweet angel Everley 💗,” wrote Hough’s sister and DWTS co-host Julianne Hough.
“Sweet angel Everley! Welcome to the world. Congratulations guys xxx,” wrote fellow pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd.
“Yayyyyy!!!! So happy for you guys 🥹🩷,” added dancer Rylee Arnold.
Sharna Burgess Said She Would ‘Love‘ to Have a Baby Girl Someday
Many of the original DWTS pros have become parents in recent years. Burgess shares a son, Zane, with her longtime partner Brian Austin Green. She is also a loving stepmom to Green’s four sons—Kassius, 23, Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 9, from his past relationships.
In 2021, Burgess told Us Weekly she “would love a girl” someday.
After giving birth to Zane and realizing her husband-to-be is “five for five” when it comes to fathering males, Burgess told the “Money Rehab” podcast in May 2025 that she wants some girl power at home.
“We need some estrogen up in this home, we need some girl power for sure, which is also what I would be hoping for this next time around,” the DWTS dancer said. “Honestly, I think we’ll do gender selection and do IVF because he’s five for five on boys. Who’s gonna take a chance on that? … He just makes boys. He’s meant to create the starting lineup of a football team.”
Burgess added that she hoped to be pregnant by the end of 2025.
