Each and every year, “Dancing With the Stars” casts a wide variety of talent. In season 34, viewers felt excited to see iconic “The Parent Trap” actress Elaine Hendrix join the competition.
Although Elaine is most famous for her villainous portrayal of Meredith Blake, she proved to be sincere and kind-hearted in the ballroom. Throughout the season, she continued to capture hearts and win votes from audience members alongside her dance partner, Alan Bersten.
Now, Alan and Elaine have reunited as the “Dancing With the Stars” live tour continues across the country. Check out the photos the actress shared and see what she had to say.
Elaine Hendrix Excites Fans With A Backstage Sneak Peek
Like many other “DWTS” competitors, Elaine Hendrix had previous dance experience. However, a previous accident kept her from performing for decades. During season 34, Elaine admitted she found her courage to dance again.
“I had high expectations of myself and I blew them out of the water,” “The Parent Trap” actress told PEOPLE last year after the competition. “To really believe in yourself when you have a dream … I gave it every ounce of my heart and soul, and it was worth it.”
Now, Elaine Hendrix is on tour with the rest of the dancers and is having the time of her life. She recently took PEOPLE on a backstage tour of the show, noting that it felt “good to be back.”
Elaine shared several photos from her first performance at the tour on her own Instagram page. Fans wrote in the comments how delighted they were to see her dance again.
“So wonderful! Happy for you for this dancing journey/celebration!” one of Elaine’s followers shared.
The Actress Overcame an Injury to Compete in the Finale
As fans recall, Elaine Hendrix suffered a serious rib injury just ahead of the Halloween episode. Although she sincerely wanted to continue, she ultimately prioritized her health.
“I’m just hoping again to go all the way, because I want to keep showing what I can do,” Elaine told PEOPLE after missing the episode. “I’m taking care of the injuries, but I’ve made it really clear to [partner] Alan [Bersten] that unless it’s just something I absolutely can’t do, we’re not holding back. We’ll get the pain managed, and I just want to keep going for it.”
Thankfully, the actress recovered and advanced in the competition, ultimately reaching the season finale. She and Alan Bersten proudly finished in fifth place.
ABC is expected to air the “Dancing With the Stars” season 35 premiere sometime this fall.
