Beloved sportscaster Erin Andrews bravely opened up about her father’s terrifying health scare over the holidays.
“I didn’t discuss this at the time, but over Christmas was a real — It was just hellacious and horrible,
but it ended up having a great ending,” the former “Dancing With the Stars” host shared during the Thursday, April 9, episode of her podcast, “Calm Down With Erin and Charissa.“
Erin Andrews Details Her Father’s Heart Attack
Andrew revealed that her dad suffered a heart attack while the family was vacation in Montana over the holidays.
“My dad had a heart attack in Montana with us and it was awful, and it was right in front of us,” she added. “I’m very proud of my sister, my mom and Jarrett and I for like springing into crazy town action,
getting paramedics, getting you know, my dad was like life-flighted to another hospital.”
She went on to thank the first responders and doctors in Bozeman for the care her father received. However, the family suffered another scare earlier this month when her father landed back in the hospital, this time in Florida.
“It’s been a lot for us for the last three months. And then our PTSD was tested again when my son Facetimed my father the other day, and he answered from a hospital bed in Tampa, and I literally my entire body seized up, and I was like, ‘What’s wrong,'” she continued.
According to Andrews, her father, Steven Andrews, experienced similar symptoms to a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital in Tampa.
“Well, good news, my dad didn’t have another heart attack,” she explained. “Moral of this story is thank God my dad’s alive. But my dad is alive because of these healthcare workers. And I just feel like they are people that don’t get as much credit as they deserve.”
Andrews got emotional, adding, “This is where I’ll cry. My dad takes care of himself so much, and like, he does such a good job, and I feel so bad, he needs a break.”
Erin Andrews and Her Father Share a Special Bond
Erin and Steven appeared together during an August 2025 episode of “Jenna & Friends.”
“I’m overwhelmed with pride,” he said. “It goes beyond the sideline reporting.”
Steven added, “She’s a wonderful daughter. I hope I’ve been as good a dad to her as she’s been a daughter to me.”
