DWTS Pro Makes Cameo in Taylor Swift’s ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ Music Video

“Dancing with the Stars” fans spotted the ultimate Easter egg in the music video for Taylor Swift’s new song, “The Fate of Ophelia.”

In one of the many scenes in the elaborate 4-minute clip, newly minted DWTS pro dancer Jan Ravnik can be spotted in the background. Not only that, but the Slovenia-born ballroom pro recreates a move that he became known for when he was on tour with Swift in 2023 and 2024.

Ravnik joined DWTS for Season 34 and is partnered with “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Jennifer Affleck.

Fans Reacted to Jan Ravnik’s Move in ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ Video

“The Fate of Ophelia” is the first track from Swift’s new album, “The Life of a Showgirl.” The album dropped at midnight on Oct. 3, 2025, and the music video came two days later.

The video features Swift as part of several different paintings, which come to life.

In one of the paintings, the singer is a raven-haired heroine on a ship at sea. Ravnik is one of several male backup dancers in the scene, and he can be seen climbing up a ladder on the ship, then sliding down it. You can see Ravnik at around the 1:42 minute mark in the video.

Fans reacted on Reddit, with some noting that Swift often features her backup dancers in her music videos. Of Ravnik, one fan wrote, “And he was on a ladder again!”

“During the song ‘lavender haze’ on the Eras tour, the dancers have ladders as their prop and they dance around it!” another wrote. ”Jan went viral for  that routine… and now it just became his ‘brand.’”

Jan Ravnik Posted a Screenshot From the Video

Ravnik moved to the U.S. in 2015 to pursue his dream of becoming a dancer, per Us Weekly. He scored the ultimate gig as a backup dancer on Swift’s Eras tour from March 2023 to December 2024 and quickly became a fan favorite.

After “The Fate of Ophelia” music video was released, Ravnik reposted Swift’s screenshot from the ship scene on his Instagram story along with her message about filming the video with her dancers.

“Writing, rehearsing, directing, and shooting the music video for ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ was the thrill of a lifetime because I got to be reunited with my Eras Tour family!!” Swift wrote. “I wanted each one-take scene to feel like a live performance and remind us all of how it felt to be at those shows together. …A huge thank you to this massive cast who kept it 💯 and also kept the secret of this video even existing.“
