Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy delighted fans when they announced they were going on tour with the rest of the pro dancers. However, that also meant they needed to make arrangements for their three-year-old son, Rome.
Since welcoming Rome, Val and Jenna have always taken him on work trips. The “Dancing With the Stars” tour was no different. Pros Pasha Pashkov and Daniella Karagach also bring their young daughter on tour, so Rome has plenty of company behind the scenes.

Val Chmerkovskiy & Jenna Johnson’s Son is the Biggest “DWTS” Fan
GettyBringing a toddler on a tour bus wouldn’t be an ideal situation for many families. But Rome Chmerkovskiy has been an important member of the “Dancing With the Stars” family since day one. Members of the cast routinely share sweet content featuring the little boy behind the scenes.
No matter how many times Rome sees the show, he’s over the moon to see his parents perform.
“Our biggest cheerleader 🥹😭” Jenna captioned an Instagram reel, revealing an adorable video of Rome in the audience.
In the footage, the toddler bounces along to the music. As soon as he spots his parents on stage, he squeals and excitedly points at them.
“Our son gets to watch us live out our dreams on stage every night,” the 31-year-old wrote over the video.
Fans flooded the comments to compliment the family. Many noted they’d seen Rome in the audience during the shows and loved seeing him cheering for the cast.
“He has a future on that stage! And look how much he loves you both❤️❤️❤️” one Instagram user commented. Many others said they’d love to see Rome perform alongside Val and Jenna someday.
The Chmerkovskiys Keep Dance in the Family
For the Chmerkovskiys, “Dancing With the Stars” is a huge family affair. Jenna Johnson’s niece, Hailey Bills, performed in the season 34 troupe and happily joined the tour alongside the family. Fans love keeping up with the hilarious content they produce behind the scenes.
Although it will be quite some time before Rome is ready to compete, Jenna revealed he’s already starting to take after his father. She posted a video of the toddler attempting some knee-walks in a coffee shop, a difficult stunt that Val Chmerkovskiy has perfected.
Fans eagerly anticipate “Dancing With the Stars” season 35, expected to return to ABC this September. The ongoing Live tour runs now through May 13.
