Julianne Hough joined “Dancing with the Stars” as a professional dancer in Season 4 in 2007. On Tuesday, November 11, DWTS celebrated its 20th anniversary with a Birthday Party episode as part of Week 9 in Season 34. The show saw the return of beloved former pros and former host Tom Bergeron, and paid tribute to some of the stars who have passed, including Len Goodman. It was a beautiful and emotional night. Hough also used the day to reflect on what the show means to her and the tremendous impact it has had on her life.

In an Instagram post on November 11, Hough shared a video highlighting some of her experiences, including reuniting with Bergeron and dancing in the opening number, choreographed by her brilliant brother, Derek Hough.
In the caption, she shared her thoughts. “Wow 20 years of @dancingwiththestars,” she began. “This show has given me a home, a family, and a deep sense of purpose. Forever grateful to everyone who’s been a part of it – from the pros to the celebs to the crew to the fans who’ve shown up season after season – you’ve helped create something that’s so much more than a TV show. It’s a movement. A legacy. A love story with dance. Happy Birthday DWTS.”
She also used the caption to celebrate her brother. “This iconic opening number was created and choreographed by my genius brother @derekhough can’t wait for you all to see it!” Julianne ended her message.
