It’s the 20th Birthday Party episode of “Dancing with the Stars” and fans are excited! Week 9 on Season 34 is going to be extra special because fans will get to see some of their favorites return to the ballroom, including beloved former host Tom Bergeron. Bergeron will serve as a special guest judge on the night, which fans are really excited about.
There’s a lot to look forward to tonight. But will the highlight be the opening number, choreographed by former DWTS professional dancer and current judge, Derek Hough? The sneak peek shows that it is going to be an unforgettable performance!
Derek Hough Creates Opening Dance
Fans were treated to a sneak peek of the performance when the official “Dancing with the Stars” Instagram account posted a video of the pros in rehearsals. The clip was shared just hours before the show started airing on Tuesday, November 11, and shows Hough teaching the professional dancers how to move to his choreography. He is an exceptionally talented dancer and choreographer, and the performance looks incredible.
Some of the dancers you will see on stage include Jan Ravnik, Pasha Pashkov, Brandon Armstrong, Gleb Savchenko, Mark Ballas, and Julianne Hough (who are paired together), Daniella Karagach, Val Chmerkovskiy, Britt Stewart, Rylee Arnold, and Alan Bersten. In the clip, Ravnik looks into the camera and says he hasn’t had coffee that morning and is “a little bit grumpy, but still positive and happy.” Also in the video, we see Bersten tell the camera he is feeling “great” and it’s “gonna be exciting.”
Fans React to Derek Hough’s Choreography
The caption on the post reads, “This has been weeks in the making. You won’t want to miss tonight’s extra special opening number choreographed by our very own Derek Hough! #DWTS20 starts at 8/7c on @abc and @disneyplus. Next day on @hulu! #DWTS.” To say fans are excited would be an understatement, and the video has been flooded with comments.
“Mark and Julianne dancing together,” a comment reads. “Love this & so excited! Cannot wait! But I wish we could have had some of the pros that were on for many seasons instead. Last thing: SASHA!!!” another fan reacted.
