Julianne Hough posted a cute teaser for a potential “Dancing with the Stars” contestant that fans would love to see. On Dec. 31, the two-time mirrorball champion turned DWTS co-host posted an Instagram Reel of a dance routine she performed on New Year’s Eve—with male backup dancers and former NFL star Rob Gronkowski. And the four-time Super Bowl champ totally busted a move in the clip.
The boy band style dance was part of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest,” where Hough, 37, and Gronkowski, 36, served as co-hosts for the Las Vegas portion of the live broadcast.

The NYE Clip Was Not Julianne Hough’s First Dance With Gronk
The live TV dance was not Hough’s first dance with Gronkowski. On Dec. 30, she posted a TikTok of the two dancing, captioning it with, “Dancing in silence and letting TikTok choose the song.”
Both dancing posts sparked a flurry of comments from fans hoping Gronk would be cast on an upcoming season of the ABC celebrity ballroom competition.
“It’s a 10!!!” one commenter wrote of Hough and Gronk’s dance.
“Am I seeing a future duo on DWTS?!?! Cause this would EAT,” another fan wrote on TikTok.
“He needs to be on DWTS!” a third added on Instagram.
“He’d be perfect with @theemmaslater as a dance partner! Imagine the content all season!” another commenter chimed in.
The idea isn’t all that far-fetched. Several former NFL stars have won mirrorball trophies in past seasons of DWTS, including Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, Donald Driver, and Rashad Jennings.
Rob Gronkowski Is a ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Fan
DisneyWhile there’s no real indication that Gronkowski will join the next season of DWTS—especially because it airs during the NFL season in the fall while he serves as an analyst on “Fox NFL Sunday”—he does enjoy watching Hough on the ABC dancing show.
Speaking with Extra ahead of “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” the former Patriots tight end said, “Julianne is just a wonderful, just terrific person and host. I’ve been watching her every season on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ I’m a big fan.”
He also weighed in on his own dance moves, which he compared to the moves of the late king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley. “He just gyrates, you know, and that’s how I dance,” Gronkowski said.
I used to like Julianne – until I saw her wearing that awful fur coat at NYE. I will NEVER watch her again.
With the cruelty of fur information so extensively out there, how is it possible for these entertainers to NOT know how these beautiful animals suffer, kept in filthy cages that drive them mad and then anally electrocuted to strip the skin off of their bodies; some are still alive when this is done.
SHAME on you Julianne, and shame on all those other young, oblisious and selfish people on the NYE show who also wore fur, the object of horrific cruelty.
I hope Robert Irwin educates you about this.
I just saw something about Julianne’s coat being faux fur – WHY WOULD YOU NOT MAKE THAT KNOWN, say “My coat is not real because I care about animals”???? Do you not know how many people are influenced by people like you and aren’t going to guess the coat was not real?
A mistake no matter how you look at it.
