Lauren Jauregui Channels Anna Delvey With One-Word Reaction to Elimination

“Dancing with the Stars” Season 34 has said goodbye to three celebrity competitors already, and Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui is the most recent one to have her journey cut short. Fans are not happy about Jauregui’s exit, and honestly, neither was she!

Lauren Jauregui’s DWTS Journey

Week 3 was TikTok night, and Jauregui and her professional dance partner, Brandon Armstrong, chose to perform a Cha Cha to “Work From Home” by Fifth Harmony featuring Ty Dolla $ign. It was a song that had a personal connection for Jauregui, but the judges rated their performance as the lowest on the night. The pair scored 18 out of 30. They were tied for last place with Andy Richter and Emma Slater, who performed a Foxtrot to “Northern Attitude” by Noah Kahan & Hozier.

When it came time to vote and decide who was in the bottom three, it was Jauregui, Ritcher, and actress Elaine Hendrix, who, along with her professional partner Alan Bersten, performed a Tango to “Gnarly” by KATSEYE. It was ultimately Jauregui who was eliminated from the ABC dance competition, and her final comment has the internet coming alive.

The singer was asked about her feelings after the exit, and she responded with one word. “Pissed,” she said. Armstrong laughed. Jauregui then told him, “I’m so grateful to have had you as a partner.” Why was this moment so funny? Because it appeared to be inspired by the controversial Season 33 contestant Anna Delvey.

Delvey and her professional partner, Ezra Sosa, were eliminated first in Season 33. When asked by co-host Julianne Hough to reveal what she took away from the experience, Delvey replied, “Nothing.” The one-word answer was so shocking that many deemed it disrespectful. At the time, fans flooded the internet with reactions.

In an interview with Extra after the elimination, Sosa revealed he was not surprised by his partner’s comment. “I knew she was going to say something very iconic and something very ‘Anna Delvey’ with her exit,” he said. “Of course she has to — it’s very typical. We would expect nothing less of her.”

But Sosa also revealed that Delvey apologized to him. “She honestly kept on apologizing to me. She felt super sorry that my first season was cut short,” he said. “I honestly wanted to stay longer for my partner. I really wanted to give her a chance to really grow on camera and let America really see who she really is.”

Fans React to Lauren Jauregui’s Elimination

In a post shared on the official “Dancing with the Stars” Instagram page on Tuesday, September 30, fans reacted to Jauregui’s statement and elimination.

“‘How’re you feeling?’ ‘Pissed’  AS YOU SHOULD, MISS GIRL, because what the actual hell…” a comment reads. “THIS MAN GETS ROBBED. EVERY. DAMN. YEAR. Justice for Brandon,” another person wrote.

Other reactions include, “Maybe the voting system needs to change .. let the public vote but let the judges decide who stays from the bottom 3 .. this was appalling to say the least,” and “one thing about the judges? they’re going to underscore brandon every week.”
