Robert Irwin will follow in his sister Bindi Irwin’s footsteps when he competes on season 34 of “Dancing With the Stars.” Will he emerge the winner, like his sister, who took home the Mirrorball trophy in season 21? Robert revealed her words of wisdom ahead of the dance competition.
Robert Irwin’s Sister Bindi Shares Solid ‘DWTS’ Advice
In an August 2025 interview with TV Insider, Robert revealed the winning advice his sister shared with him. Since she won “Dancing With the Stars,” her words of wisdom are worth a listen.
“The thing she really stressed is just be yourself and make it your own,” Robert said. “I go into this with such pride and admiration for what Bindi did on the show, and I’m not trying in any way to match what she did.”
He continued, “She is just the most incredible human being and just lit up the dance floor so, so incredibly well. She was just amazing. I just want to bring a bit of that Irwin spirit back into the ballroom.”
Bindi also told him, “apply yourself” and “give it 100%” — but also noted he should “sit back and enjoy every second.”
Robert explained, “So that’s what I’m going to do. I want to give it my all but really try and revel in it and enjoy every second because it’s something that is a one-of-a-kind experience, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”
Bindi Irwin Will Be Cheering On Her Brother
On August 30, Bindi took to Instagram to share that she and her daughter had temporarily moved to Los Angeles to support Robert.
“10 years ago I won @dancingwiththestars here in America with the most wonderful @derekhough,” she wrote in the caption. “Now, I get to cheer on my (not so little) brother @robertirwinphotography!”
She added, “If you’re wondering who will be cheering the loudest in the audience — it will definitely be me and Grace. She has already chosen all her dresses to wear in the ballroom audience each week. ❤️🥹 #DWTS. We’re super proud of you, Robert.”
In the video, the “DWTS” alum explained, “I wanted to pop on here and share a little bit of a life update with you. We have officially moved to Los Angeles — not forever — for the next three months. Australia Zoo will always be home, but we are here to support my incredible brother on ‘Dancing With the Stars.'”
Bindi added, “He is going to shine, though. And I know in my heart that he’s going to make it far because he is such a fantastic human being.”
