Rylee Arnold is ready to hit the dance floor for “Dancing With the Stars” season 34 — and her sister Lindsay Arnold’s advice is sure to carry her through. The “DWTS” pro shared her older sister’s wise words for the dance competition.
Rylee Arnold Shares Her Sister Lindsay’s ‘DWTS’ Advice
Rylee, who is paired with Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying for “DWTS” season 34, shared her sister’s advice that’s made a huge difference for her on the show.
During a September 3 interview with People, Rylee revealed that Lindsay, who has competed on the show 10 times and won once, gave her an easy tip to follow.
“The best piece of advice that I’ve ever received from Lindsay, and honestly, the best piece of advice I’ve ever been given, is to always just remain true to yourself,” she shared. “Always just be yourself, authentically you, because if people don’t like you for you, then you’re not where you need to be.”
Rylee noted, “Just be yourself and that’s going to be where you’re going to be the happiest version of yourself, so always just emulate that and be that.”
The pro dancer added, “It got me through everything. I love her.”
As for her pairing with Hoying, Rylee said it’s “so surreal and so amazing.”
“When he first walked through the door, I was just starstruck because I knew exactly who Scott was and I’m just such a big fan of him,” Rylee explained. “I was like, ‘Oh my gosh. Wait, he’s my partner this season?'”
Hoying called Rylee “the perfect partner,” sharing that he’s “obsessed with her already.” He added, “She’s such a superstar. She just has so much star power … I screamed when I walked in.”
Julianne Hough Shared Similar Advice for ‘DWTS’ Contestants
“DWTS” co-host Julianne Hough shared a similar bit of advice about competing on the show.
In a June 2025 interview with Well+Good, she said one of the secrets to winning “Dancing With the Stars” is to be real and vulnerable.
“My advice (for celebrity contestants) never really changes,” she said. “If you can commit full out and put yourself in a vulnerable situation, knowing that the show is there to highlight you and encourage you, all people want to do is get to know you and get to see you.”
Hough added, “The more authentic, the more real, the more vulnerable you can be and share the journey the better, because that’s all people really want: They want to go on that journey and see themselves in you.”
