“Dancing with the Stars” will look a little different this fall without one of its longtime pros. Sasha Farber, who has competed on the ABC ballroom competition for more than a decade, has confirmed he will not be part of the season 34 cast.

Speculation began after judge Carrie Ann Inaba accidentally revealed the professional dancer lineup on Instagram Stories. Fans quickly noticed Farber’s name was missing, sparking a wave of disappointment across social media.
The 41-year-old dancer, known for his high-energy routines and shirtless performances, addressed his absence directly on social media. On TikTok, a fan commented that season 34 “will not be the same without you.” Farber replied, “Really thank you so much !!! It’s going to be such a good season ❤️.”
He later echoed the sentiment in a statement to E! News, saying, “I’m very excited for the new cast and celebrities!!! It’s going to be an epic season and I’m very grateful for all the fans’ support and love.”
Actress Selma Blair and other stars also voiced support for the dancer, with reality TV personality and former partner Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi commenting, “If you’re not on this season of DWTS I’m gonna riot.”
While Farber has not given a formal explanation for his departure, he has hinted online about “a Sasha tour,” suggesting he may be shifting focus to other projects outside of the show.

Farber has skipped seasons before. He first joined “Dancing with the Stars” as a troupe member before making his pro debut in 2013. He returned in season 22 and has been a fixture on the show ever since, except for a break during season 25 in 2017.
Most recently, Farber competed in season 33 with “Bachelorette” alum Jenn Tran, and their chemistry fueled dating speculation. The two reportedly ended their relationship in June 2025.
