Scott Hoying revealed the positive side to his unexpected elimination on “Dancing with the Stars.”
On Oct. 21, the Pentatonix singer and his pro partner Rylee Arnold were the fifth couple eliminated on the 34th season of the celebrity ballroom competition. While they were disappointed to be cut short from the competition—on “Wicked” theme night, no less—Hoying, at least, found one upside as he heads on the road with his pop-style a cappella group.
“I was going to do both at the same time, which I had been stressing about and losing sleep over,” Hoying told Extra in a post-elimination interview. “So, the silver lining is I can dive into that.”
Pentatonix will kick off their Christmas in the City Tour in West Valley City, UT, on Nov. 8, and there are multiple shows scheduled well before the DWTS finale on Nov. 24. U.S. dates for the Pentatonix tour will run through Dec. 22.
Rylee Arnold Will Not Be on the 2026 DWTS Live Tour
While Hoying will jump right back into his music career post DWTS, Arnold’s future isn’t as clear. It’s possible she could turn up as a dancer in DWTS intro numbers over the next few weeks, or fans may not see her at all until the finale. One thing is for certain: Arnold won’t be a dancer on the DWTS Live Tour in early 2026.
According to Us Weekly, in an Instagram story earlier this month, Arnold wrote, “So sad I won’t be on the DWTS tour this year. Being on tour the last two years was seriously the most amazing experience ever. I’ve made the best memories and met the best people.”
“This year, I had to make the hard decision to sit it out and focus on my health, especially with managing my Type 1 diabetes, which can be tricky on the road. I’m gonna miss it SO much, but I’ll definitely be cheering everyone on and can’t wait to come watch,” Arnold added.
The DWTS tour lineup includes pro dancers Emma Slater, Brandon Armstrong, Alan Bersten, Val Chmerkovskiy, Jenna Johnson, Daniella Karagach, Pasha Pashkov, Ezra Sosa, Britt Stewart, and new troupe member Hailey Bills.
Scott Hoying Joked About Accidentally Manifesting His Early End on DWTS
Fans will miss Arnold and Hoying on DWTS. The couple will likely reunite for a dance on finale night, but Hoying jokingly took the blame for their early ouster in the ballroom. He told Extra that he was such a fan of “Wicked” director Jon M. Chu, who served as a guest judge on the Oct. 21 theme night, that he may have gone overboard with his wishes.
“[I kept] saying online, ‘I love ‘Wicked’ so much… Please get me to ‘Wicked’ night,’” Hoying recalled. “I should have said ‘to the end.’”
“Dancing With the Stars” returns to ABC on Oct. 28 with a Halloween theme night.
