Tom Bergeron Shares Throwback Video in Touching Tribute to Rob Reiner

Tom Bergeron shared a sweet throwback video to honor the late Rob Reiner.

He shared the post to Instagram on Thursday, December 18, when he honored both Rob Reiner and his famous father Carl Reiner.

“All week I, like many of you, have been left stunned by the news of Rob & Michele Reiner’s deaths,” he began. “My heart goes out to their daughter Romy and son Jake, who spoke about their parents as ‘our best friends.’”

He added, “I was particularly close to their grandfather, Carl Reiner, and for this #throwbackthursday post, I wanted to again share my 2017 introduction of Carl as he and Rob were about to be the first father-son duo to be honored at The Chinese Theater Hand and Footprint Ceremony.”

The 70-year-old added how honored he was to be included in the ceremony. Bergeron said watching the “love and joy” between the father and son on their big day was “heartwarming.”

It was a very special day and I was honored to be part of it,” he concluded.

Bergeron Previously Shared a Tribute

Prior to his recent social media post, he shared photos from a ceremony, where he posed with Rob Reiner and his father, fellow actor and director Carl Reiner.

“Heartbreaking news about the deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife.” He wrote at the time.

Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner were found dead in their home in Brentwood, California on Sunday, December 14.

Their son, Nick Reiner, was arrested that same day and was being held without bail. He has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with their death.

Tributes continue to pour in for the couple as friends remember sweet memories that were shared.

Reiner’s Family Releases a Heartbreaking Statement

Two of Rob and Michele’s children, Jake and Romy, released a statement regarding the tragic news.

“Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day,” it began.

The two called their parents their “best friends.”

“The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience. They weren’t just our parents; they were our best friends,” the statement continued.

“We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life,” it added.

The two concluded the message by asking for privacy as they go through this difficult time.
